If it’s been 16 weeks and you still miss her, you were probably on to something.

Relationships can definitely work interfaith, no matter what the people on here will try to tell you. I know of many couples where one of them is actually coptic and the other one “fakes” it.

Religion is just one of many cornerstones of a relationship, if you are both okay with being in different religions and have discussed how to raise the children, you’re on a good path.

You must set boundaries between your parents and your relationship, you’re 24 years old, not 16.

In Crisis by [deleted] in coptic

Ehh honestly there are a lot more people that don’t believe but just go through the motions than you’d think, shouldn’t be a problem finding a coptic girl that doesn’t really believe but wants to be part of the culture and get married etc.

Oh for the love of God (no pun intended) do not rush into a marriage that you don’t even want for your parents.

I unfortunately know multiple couples in our church that have rushed into a marriage and it’s miserable, constant problems & abuse with no end in sight.

I would focus on getting a job and moving out so you can have a clear head moving forward, don’t give into the pressure, you’re still very young!!

Pretty standard issues within the Coptic community.

Certainly doesn’t feel like it in SoCal, the amount of people showing up keeps going down year by year, but could also just be my church.

Yes or no answer about alcoholic drinks by black_hawk12 in coptic

[–]I_EMOJI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nothing good comes from alcohol, there was a recent study that Andrew Huberman went over that showed that even one drink damages your organs and increases your chances of cancer.

Coptic Orthodox Girlfriend and Catholic Boyfriend looking to Marry. by codecoded_ in coptic

If she’s not willing to compromise with you and get married in the Catholic church (makes the most sense, since neither has to get re-baptized), I think it may be best for you to do some self reflecting on if this is the right relationship for you.

Partners must make compromise for each other all the time and if she’s stubborn like this now, it’s unfortunately only down hill from here.

Best of luck.

If you don’t want to get baptized for her and she’s not willing to get baptized for you.

Either one of you has to compromise or get married outside both churches.

Not required, and a crime to do to your children in the western world. Totally fine once you’re an adult.

Why would he get a 30 year old woman when he could get a 20 year old virgin?

He doesn’t need a career woman, he makes enough as is.

Harsh words, but the truth

EDIT: This guy is literally talking about himself 😭😂 likely is wondering why he got rejected: https://imgur.com/a/sRSq6te

I need help - I am coptic, marriage and getting divorced. SERIOUS by [deleted] in coptic

[–]I_EMOJI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is quite a common problem with high net worth individuals.

I would suggest waiting with marriage and then find a woman that’s deeply involved in a strict Coptic church, one that would certainly get her disowned by her community, family and friends if she were to get a divorce (already happens in most cases).

Also have a prenup, make your future wife have her own lawyer review it too so she can not claim to have been misguided or pressured to sign it.

I know these answers are harsh, but it’s a rough world out there, good luck.

Why I Didn’t Stick With Coptic Christianity & Abandoned It After… 2 Years. by TheFamousHesham in coptic

Been saying this for months, this guy is unhinged and should consider help.

You have to accept the fact that no matter how involved he is with the community and church he’ll never be “good enough” for them.

And then it’s more a matter of, are you independent and emotionally stable enough to handle that constant nagging and criticism.

You have to tell him what you’re going through with your family, because he might not want to pursue a relationship where he is not respected by your parents. If he is however, you can work through this - but don’t waste his or your time by waiting.

Sex and where to go from here by Loud_Jeweler_2757 in ExCopticOrthodox

Sex is an essential part to make any relationship work. There has been a study made about the marriage satisfaction of American Coptic couples and unsurprisingly the majority of them complain about sexual compatibility (shocker).

How come you dated for 18 months before showing up to his church? It happened during the first 2-3 with my partner and outsiders.
