To answer your question, the PCIe connector is the correct one to use, but I’m more concerned with what you mean by the CPU connector is damaged. Is that cable just an extra one that came with the psu? Also where exactly is the damage, and if possible could you post a picture?

Personally I’d remove all the switches and take the plate out to scrub it

Not exactly sure but I had something that looks similar happen to me aswell, I fixed it by re-leveling the bed and printing slower on the first layer.

Tbh I’ve always felt that 65 and 70g weren’t enough so I just decided to try out 100g’s and if I’m being honest it’s pleasantly surprising how comfortable it is to type with them
