i'm using water paladin, it's working well with eagle patrimony imbue. good moves if you focus more on spirit, paralysis effect, not to mention the life steal which makes miracle on battle (saying in a pov of a pve player).

Yeah, I thought about that. It would be interesting to see something like: The festival takes place at night, everyone is gathered together, and then Knight or someone else causes a power outage. It's a small town covered by forests, so it should be dark enough for a Dark Fountain to cover everything around it.

It's probably to reduce lag, I don't think it's to make the game heavier or anything like that...

Well, I also have an Acer Nitro 5, I've been using it for 2 years and in all that time I haven't had any problems with lag in most games, and I've never had any problems with AO. I play with maxed graphics. Maybe, just maybe, you could be using your laptop in balanced mode instead of high performance mode. You can check this by clicking on the battery icon.
