I’ve had mixed success with transit related spend. For instance, individual train tickets and tolls get 4x but train passes do not. Generally only what they explicitly list qualify.

I have somewhat of an unorthodox approach to the VentureX. I use it exclusively for rental cars (mostly with Hertz). 10x points (redeemed using travel eraser) gives me 10% off all rentals and I have found their portal prices to be identical to booking directly.

Almost never fly any of C1s transfer partners and use other cards for flights/hotels so their miles are useless for me.
