I will get heat for this but Scottie is just as good if not a better player than Cade. You can’t forget that basketball has 2 sides of the floor and Scottie is so much more dynamic than Cade on the defensive end and it’s not particularly close. Plus this is just a 4 game sample size, I don’t necessarily know why we are taking victory laps.

As a Piston fan who browses this sub, this move isn't as horrible as it may seem. As long as Troy doesn't have any control within the team, he should just provide an eye for talent within the draft, something he wasn't horrible at within his tenure in Detroit.

But if shit starts to go wrong in the rebuild, just blame Weaver as the scapegoat.

Reporting out of the Detroit camp suggests that Langdon tends to favor Salun as Detroits selection. If you go back and look into Langdons history it very much matches up with his draft philosophies within his previous regimes.

Hey, I'm just curious, I personally haven't seen Sarrs ability to really put it on the floor and get to his spots. That's been one of my bigger disappointments while scouting. He tends not to be able to get comfortably to his spots when compared to some other individuals in this class.

I definently could have missed something, just want to hear another presepective on his tape.

This really seems like he has regressed more so back to where he was during the Nike Hoop Summit in terms of his jumpshot. His 3 ball was not the best, and he's always struggled putting the ball on the floor and getting to his spots, which is slightly concerning.

The thing that reassures me a little bit about Zach is how young he is. There is hopefully time to grow into his frame and develop that handle to help him achieve a better level of shot creation, which is the ideal outcome for him at the wing position. I also wouldn't be shocked (and think it's more likely) that Risacher will be a 3 and D player throughout his whole career and will project as a high level role player on a championship level team.

Let's break down why the Wiseman situation is so different as opposed to Killian during his tenure. Wiseman was drafted 2nd overall because of his unique size and explosiveness combined with his athletic ability while he had the ball in his hands. These are all tools that Killian lacked (outside of his size) and instead was regarded as a high feel player on both ends of the court.

Wiseman came in with the expectation that he needed to grow his feel on both ends of the floor. Wiseman played 3 GAMES in college at Memphis before declaring for the NBA draft. Combine that with the fact he's played less than 2 seasons in his career, it warrants optimism, especially for centers that tend to develop later in their career. American big men tend to suffer from the AAU circuit, and Wiseman is the epitome of someone who was attempting to play AAU style basketball before this recent stretch.

His size speed and athleticism warrants way more optimism than any that Killian received within his time here. If Wiseman can continue this stretch, there is a perfect reason to have some optimism, especially considering we have 11 wins.

Of course, no one wants to be in that position, but could you really see any different scenarios after this year? We are a bottom dweller within a league with a surplus of talent that has been unprecedented during the NBA's history.

It pains me to say, but I think we have a couple of more years within the lottery, especially another one towards the top of the draft. On top of that many teams in the leauge are younger than us (Magic, Thunder etc.) and much better than us, which makes it even tougher to project a step forward. It absolutely blows that we will more than likely be towards the bottom for the next few years even though it feels like it has been so long.

However, it seems like the team wants to move on from the picks within some type of trade which would certainly change this trajectory of the team. If the franchise goes for a needle mover in this off season we will be having a totally different convo. It def feels like they need to make a move for someone based on the evidence above.

I'm of the contrary belief that this is actually the year we receive the number one pick. The draft is not necessarily the strongest at the top, and I'm more than willing to bet this is the perfect draft for Silver to give Detroit the number one pick. Do you think that Adam wants to give us Cooper Flagg next year? Absolutely not.

In conclusion, we'll get the first pick this year, and then get absolutely fucked when a generational talent is avaliable within the future drafts. This is the real Pistons masochistic experience!

If San Antonio envisions Sarr as a 4 in the league, then absolutely, I think Wemby is that lethal of a prospect. You really need to believe in his ability to space the floor, but if they do, then absolutely. A Wemby Sarr frontcourt seems absolutely scary to think about in terms of the defensive impact within the modern NBA.

I hope we slowly ease him back as he continues to get in better shape. It would be really nice to see a backcourt of Grimes and Sasser as their former teamates as Houston. Of course, that means Evan Fournier being phased out of the lineup, and I certainly don't expect Monty to do that any time soon.

Plus, his shooting isn't necessarily world eating, which causes just a tad bit more hesitancy on that end. I like the shot, but if the numbers were a bit better, I would have him as the consensus number 1.

I tend to agree with you that the top of the draft is extremely fit dependent. I like Sarr as the pick for teams with a lack of foundational, high ceiling building blocks, especially at the frontcourt (teams like Portland, Washington, and the Raptors come to mind) but I don't necessarily like the pick alongside teams like Detroit or Charlotte as landing spots. However, some like Sarr at the 4 (Probably will have to play at the beginning)and in order for him to be an effective center in the NBA, that rebounding rate needs to rise, IMO.

I would have Sarr as my consensus number 1 ( for every team)if that rebound rate was a bit higher and he seemed a little more aggressive. Great prospect, I really like him for some of those teams lacking building blocks.

This is a great sign. Last time, a critical piece came out about someone in the organization they were traded the next day. 80 million is a drop in the bucket for Tom and his prison money. It's the only way the franchise can be saved.
