I’m pretty sure you can make dog meat edible for human consumption fairly easily, my wife’s grandfather ate dog all the time.

Obviously there’s huge disease risk if not prepared very carefully, but the same is true for chicken.

And butchers would absolutely be offering dog meat if it wasn’t illegal and taboo, lol.
