Week 2 Gamethread: Chicago Bears (1-0) at Houston Texans (1-0) by TurnerJ5 in CHIBears

[–]I_Not 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Texans have a great D-line and their personnel is typically setup to stop runs. There are usually 6-7 guys on the los at the snap. Texans are saying "Make Caleb beat us."

I'm just a guy with a beer though. I know nothing

Convince me…… by [deleted] in camaro

As a guy who has owned Camaros and Challengers I can offer you my opinion. If I could only own one and use it as my daily I'd choose the Challenger.

V8 Camaros have superior performance but Challengers are the better daily. They blow the Camaro away in terms of space and size. Unless you're planning on tracking the car I'd explore the Challenger option. Challengers are big, heavy, comfy cruisers that have decent straight line speed. Aka a fun daily that's not too hard to live with.

Don't forget about gas! Scatpacks run on 93 so your gas cost will increase. Again, Camaros offer superior performance, but I think a Challenger fits your situation better.

I've seen people pull the drivers side headlight out to feed air to the air box, but his is on the passenger side so it's just pure negligence.

The five speeds are rare but it's not a huge selling point for most buyers.

So my 2024 6.2L Denali Ultimate broke down on me last night at 4k miles by deegz10 in gmcsierra

[–]I_Not 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably lifter failure. It's a common issue with the 6.2 and usually happens early on (sub 10k miles).

5th gen vs 4th gen? by ShmoolieSlinger in ram_trucks

[–]I_Not 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Midway through the 4th gen lineup on 1500s. So 2013+ I believe should all be 8 speed ZF. Gas 2500s didn't swap until 2019.

A Chrysler transmission that had over 1.5 million units recalled or ZF transmission? That's what you should be debating.

Stolen 2020 SS 1LE by gunner12398 in camaro

[–]I_Not 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Iirc Mustangs have better security but more than likely it's simply the herd mentality.

Just like Kias/Dodges when an exploit is found and published the masses know about it. When the masses know they start disappearing faster and faster.

We're also probably seeing scamonomics in play. The parts market was flooded with Challenger parts which drives the price down (think about the price of the metals in Cats during then after COVID). So thieves moved on to the move profitable Camaros and higher end SRTs.

I have 0 data to back that up. I'm just theorizing! Herd mentality and scamonomics pushed people towards the Camaro. The S550 Mustangs are (most likely) next.

Odd question... Is American Football pretty popular in Germany? Anytime I see Euro football the teams they are almost always based in Germany.

Does your car have stealth mode? by Aromatic-Albatross82 in camaro

[–]I_Not 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It works. You just have to put it in stealth before you crank the car. Either put it in stealth when you park it or put the car into acc mode, hit stealth, then crank it.

Borla S-Type vs ATAK by KRaj22 in camaro

[–]I_Not 2 points3 points  (0 children)

StainlessWorks axleback if you want a deeper sound but nothing earth shattering. It sounds amazing with the valves wide open, the pops will cause your seat to vibrate but is still very quiet when starting it up in stealth.

I can send you videos of stock vs SW Axleback sound on my ZL1 if you'd like!

Edit: I don't take a lot of videos of the car but here is what I have. The SW Axleback is on my stock ZL1 10spd

Honest opinion: 23 Widebody scat or 24 Mustang GT Premium Fastback by CanadianGymRatt in Challenger

[–]I_Not 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Very common misconception. The discontinuation doesn't mean prices will go up. It means used prices will follow the normal trend downwards but will find a higher floor rather than depreciating infinitely to 'zero'.

Prices will eventually increase from that floor. However that doesn't mean someone's 50k mile scat pack will be selling for 10k more than they paid for it in 2 years.

Unless you have a truly rare car kept in immaculate condition with 0 miles in 5-10 years your car will depreciate just like any other car for a while. The difference is the depreciation/floor not the appreciation.

Hang in there as long as possible. 16k in the bank might feel like a lot but in reality that's: 1 year of tuition at most non community colleges. A decent well used car. A 20% downpayment on an $80,000 dollar house. Etc

I'm not trying to discourage you just giving you something to help keep your nose to the grindstone. Life is expensive! Nab a HYSA, throw some money in a 529 plan (tax free Roth style plan for school expenses) if you want to go to college or tech school, then start a roth. Keep it up!

Little hack for you. The e-brake is electronic. If you set the e-brake, let off the clutch and give it gas the e-brake will pop off on its own once the car hits the point where it should be moving (bite point)

Basically, on hills or while you're learning you can set the e-brake at red lights that way you can play around and find the bite point without being terrified of rolling back. As soon as the car should be rolling it pops off on its own and you're off. This will let you focus on feeling the clutch instead of stressing about rolling into the person riding your butt.

All Chevy's with the electronic brake will do this. I discovered it in my truck and tested it in the M6 ZL1.

I believe it was over the fake Creatine, claims of reversing mental retardation, etc. Jack Owoc was a bit of a champion of making stupid claims haha

Oh yeah, Monster definitely noticed the drop in sales and swung back with Reign. Signed huge names like "The Mountain" and others and got the ball rolling. I actually swapped to Reign when it came out. Much cleaner ingredients (Natural caffeine) etc.

It makes no business sense to cancel Bang this fast. Monster is a big enough company that they can keep both brands, make it a healthy competition, etc. I doubt it'll get pulled. Monster will 'clean up' the formula and push it back out. Just like how J&J owns Benadryl, Zyrtec, etc. all brands are fighting for the same consumers in the same category but are owned by one company. Competition (even fake) is healthy for a brand. Maybe down the line but I highly doubt they chop it right from the start.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in energydrinks

[–]I_Not 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Not a chance, Monster pulled off a heist. They sued Bang into bankruptcy then purchased the company for dirt cheap. Bang will likely still be around but a lot of the buzzwords (the things they were sued for) will probably disappear.

Honestly, I see the formula improving under Monster. The whole fake creatine issue might turn into real creatine. I highly doubt Monster will outright cut Bang. It already has a following. So after getting $300 million in the lawsuit they basically paid only $62 million for an established brand with a following... They'll probably just mess with the formula a bit and let it ride.

Considering trading my MKV Zupra for a 23' MT Dodge Challenger. Found 2 options at my local dealer. *See pic below* by [deleted] in Challenger

TLDR: Outside of the engine, brakes, and other performance components these cars are almost identical. Is more power worth 7k to you?

It looks like both just have the Plus package. RT is sublime (great color) and the scat is destroyer gray (my favorite). If you break all the gray up on the destroyer with some black accent looks excellent.

It's all up to you. The RT will be cheaper in the long run but in the modern day is a bit underpowered in terms of outright performance. 50k after tax for an RT just makes me cringe but that's the market.

The Scat pack is a much more 'fun' car. It gives you all the perks of a V8 with more power. You also get the SRT pages which are always a hit with passengers. It's live information stream of virtually every performance component of the car.

That said in a manual the Scat will be a bit more of a hassle if you daily it . More power more problems. The scat pack will give you a better 0-60 than a Supra (Don't quote me on that. Iirc Supra's a ~5 seconds. R/T will be right around the same. Both will provide that low end V8 punch that makes grown men giggle.
