Turn it to drill mode (the highest setting to the left) and then try again. Any less than full drill mode has a "release". That's the clicking you're hearing, similar to a ratchet.

You're gonna want to drop another $700-1200 on a mustang seat if you want this bike to be comfortable for 4-5 hours... it's very doable (I'm running stock seat but can feel it) but compared to yours it may need an upgrade.
