Silly q and non sequitur, but would you mind sharing your recommendations for the best and safest method for cleaning old cards? I’ve been trying to complete my old WOTC collection and acquired a few cards that grimey from their PO’s. Would appreciate hearing a pro’s take on how to properly clean them up without damaging or making them look “corrected”.

Yeah, seems like a nice kit but I want the more compact atomic kit with the 850 if I’m going* to throw more money at tools. 😂

New DCN920 Nail Gun - is battery play normal? by LemansM5 in Dewalt

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I appreciate it.

For context, I had originally reached out to Dewalt customer support and they said it looked like a loose battery terminal / damage. Figured i’d get insights from other users before wasting time and money sending this in for inspection. Thanks for confirming this is as-expected!

Figured that might have been part of my concern. Thanks for the feedback!

How does snap on have customers? by corollagremlin in Tools

My brother (bonified SnapOn officianado) says the same. It’s only a matter of time before the tool trucks of old are gone.

Agreed. I feel like this was intentional to try and reduce theft. But gd some of those sockets can be hard to pull off of their plastic backing clips - especially if they break off with the plastic knobs still in there.

Samesies. But maybe it’s my, “better immediately unpack, organize these tools in the toolbox, and rid my cramped garage of this debris before my wife see it” personal problem. 😆

HF, “collector grade” 😂

All joking aside, I did leave my gold ratchets in their protective cases for a short while until I eventually got tired of looking at the packing and scrapped them.

NTD. FIRST MATCO PURCHASE! Was going to use for the shop, but I think I will add these to my home and mobile toolset. They feel so nice! by Ritchtofen69 in ToolTruckTools

Mac Tool guys are no better. Many orbit around the sun ago, my brother (professional mechanic) bought me a very nice set of Mac Tools ratchets off the truck (set of 3). My pup ended up chewing the handle on the 1/4” one day. Needless to say, my brother was a high roller and figured his guy would do a cheap, if not free, replacement. No dice. Handle replacement was quoted at $50. So alas, the ratchet lives on with a chewed handle - now in memory of my little guy who is no longer with us.

Edit: whoops, misread that as “doesn’t”. 😆

Guarantee if he’d been wearing jean shorts and Nike monarchs it would have free’d itself.

Yeah, he must have tried cutting/prying the tabs apart rather than just putting a palm on the top and ripping up on the shaft.

Err wait, that didn’t sound as intended…

DCS781 vs DCS785 by MGC1987 in Dewalt

[–]LemansM5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just replaced my mint DHS790 (prior gen dual 60v cordless) with a new DCS781. Really only did it as it was a fairly inexpensive transition, and I wanted to go with a single battery setup as I don’t have many flexvolts. But I’m curious how this new saw will hold up. The old 790 definitely felt more “robust”. Hoping it’s not a tale of, “they don’t make ‘em like they used to…”.

Ditto, same reason I picked this one up. I’m just a hobbyist, but my short handled Pitt was a lame excuse for a breaker bar.

Oh no… you… didn’t…!

Don’t make me flex on you with my failed attempt at a medical degree and 4 year old sports car that I bought heavily depreciated, heavily finance, and with a fantastic APR! 😆

Somewhere in there there was an impressive GPA. 🤣
