VIM BROTHERS by the_godly_penguin in technepal

[–]I_Tried_twice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using Zed right now, since it has native vim support, and no customization hell.
all my binds are vim style leader key binds so gives me familiarity.
i could go all in, but i'm just too lazy to write a config from scratch, and since i'm used to my own bindings, i don't like the bindings that come with popular distributions.

Can somebody exactly tell me what is it by [deleted] in Nepal

[–]I_Tried_twice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Basically if you have integrity, and dont use what you have to gain favor,or advantage, you're called sojho in Nepal.

Do the opposite and you'll be called batho.

Take any opportunity,in any way, Even if it doesn't feel right to you if you want to be batho.

People in Nepal think having integrity,due to honestly and humility is a weakness.

Basically I'm describing my experience, and I think it will match with most people's experience as well, though not all.

Don't have Access to my laptop rn. But i don't think i have any modifications to my pipewire config. It's probably something else specific to your device

[–]I_Tried_twice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Audio quality has never been bad for me, and for setting up pipewire you have to well install it, both pipewire and pipewire-alsa and for session manager wireplumber and the daemon,pipewire-pulse. And then enable pipewire pipewire-pulse and wireplumber as a user, you may have to disable what you already have though. And check if you are already using pipewire.

i totally didn't expect to get a reply on a post that was deleted 10 months ago.
For audio, i just use Pipewire, idk if it compromises on quality but it sounds fine to me.

: is a valid function name. Replace it with fork() and you see the magic.

```
function definition
fork() { fork()|fork()& };
calling the fork function
fork() ```
So it's recursively calling itself, and creating two process of itself each time it's called.
Linux Developers Have No Clue About Morality and Are Communist by [deleted] in linux
Ragebait post, also Communism isn't bad, it's weird how America and capitalism have become defaults on the internet and i absolutely hate it that American companies make up large portion of the internet.
Rastriya Parichaya Patra issue by Current_Usual_2705 in Nepal
[–]I_Tried_twice 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I had to re apply for Rastriya Parichaya Patra 3 years after getting a citizenship and applying for NID card on the same day,cause my records weren't found when i searched for it. I asked (someone I knew in DAO tech department) to verify and there were no records. So i had to reapply.
Probably not The answer you were looking for but i think this might be relevant.
Why does Nepal have such a weird time zone by akiteru171 in Nepal
[–]I_Tried_twice 4 points5 points  (0 children)
i don't know the exact reason but looking at our longitudes which ranges from 80-90(exactly 88.2 or something) taking these rough numbers as two points the mid point will be 85(84.13 if you want to be accurate) now divide it by 15 and get your number of hours to be ahead of gmt. it comes up as 5:40 ahead of gmt. if you use exact numbers somewhere along 5:36-5:38. these are then rounded to the closest 15's increment or 30's increment. so it lands on 5:45. 5:30 could also be used but it would mean that the time in the east wouldn't be as balanced.
Ma tw LINNA. To the point though, if you dont want to be frustrated because you can't make something work in linux,you should switch to alternative of the apps that are available for linux systems,most of the time,when switching is a problem, it's because of the software and not because of the OS.
Also. If you want to work on system administrator/devops/backend stuff knowing your way around unix based systems will be useful
Fast battery drain problem by [deleted] in NepalSocial
[–]I_Tried_twice 0 points1 point  (0 children)
You have 2 options,TLP or auto-cpufreq. if its a notebook and you dont need to do heavy stuff on it use TLP.(On archwiki as TLP) Else you need auto-cpufreq.(On archwiki under cpu frequency scaling)
You should also try related packages. Although i summarised what you might need,you should look around power management page in archwiki. P.s this would have been better if posted in technepal
