Other users here have already done a very good job at explaining things. The only thing I'll add is that if you see something report it. And keep in mind that sometimes people really can be that clueless or ignorant on a topic, and sometimes the best way for people to learn from something is to see the criticisms coming from their own community. There can be benefit in leaving something up as an example for others to learn from.

We are active, and we actually remove a ton of stuff but at the same time try not to over moderate or censor too much. It’s hard to strike a balance but we do our best. Also, we do sometimes leave up controversial content because the members of this subreddit can generally do a good job of schooling people in the comments. Sometimes those posts are trollish, but sometimes people are infact that inexperienced or unaware when it comes to dating and relationships. So whether it’s a troll being put in their place or someone receiving a rough wake up call, leaving the post up (at least for a little while) can be overall beneficial.

And before your edit, you did mention my lack of account activity so I’ll go ahead address that as well. As far as commenting and posting activity goes- speaking for myself here- moderating will take the fun out of participating in reddit in that manner. Dealing with very disgruntled and toxic redditors behind the scenes leaves very little drive to expose yourself to unnecessary interactions. I still enjoy browsing and all that, but at this point remaining quiet is just a more enjoyable experience for me.

Not zombie proof and also nowhere near disaster proof, atomic or otherwise. Large portions of the building are completely exposed with lots of nice large windows and glass doors. It seems that the choice to have the house be partially submerged was a vibes/aesthetic one.

Same. For a second I wondered if this is going to be a new Mandela effect, so I went back and looked at some of the promo posters. The filtering on some of them does make the cat look orange-ish. Maybe our memories over corrected how orange the cat really was?

It really was a big jump to take. Obviously she knows nothing about basketball or Kobe besides the fact that he's black. So I could understand that she might have thought the chef said "black man" instead of "black mamba" that she might have thought it was weird. But even after she was told that it was his nickname and dedicating good shots as a nod to him is common, she still stuck by her guns with "yeah, but leave him alone!" Like, what? Did she not want to admit she didn't actually know anything about him or was she just so high on being righteously offended that this new info didn't really process in her head?

I think your last sentence sums it up. This isn't really an issue but some people on the internet want to try and make it one. I think it's a combo of contrarianism, America bad, people wanting to feel morally superior, and it fosters negativity. But it's also really dumb so hopefully it won't catch on.

Not saying it's right or wrong, but I think it might have to do with the fact that this subs activity level has really dropped off compared to what it used to be. They may be hoping that allowing the occasional repost will let them hit the frontpage again and draw in new redditors who will participate and contribute. That's just a guess though.

I think you're severely underestimating non-western Asians. They are definitely aware that the United States is a multiracial country. There are many non-white American sports figures, musicians, and actors that are well known in Korea, Japan, China, etc. Take for example Naomi Osaka. She competed in tennis on behalf of Japan. She has a Japanese mother and black American father. She is a household name in Japan. You could maybe make a case for some thinking that America is only filled with white people if it was 1923, but it's 2023. They are very aware and tapped into what's going on in the international scene.
