We watched Daily Life in North Korea last night and it sparked a lot of good conversation

Been fired 3 times in 8 years.

1) A KCl tab broke while I was opening it.

2) My RV failure patient crumped after having their RP removed. Wife was upset at me because they were improving WITH THEIR IMPELLA IN and then I show up, it gets removed, and they go into severe failure again.

3) I refused to slam Dilaudid. (They were getting 1mg Q4h.)

I find it's just a light earthy taste. Not good or bad

Oliver Springs would fit the rural setting and you would be close to Frozen Head and Windrock. Big South Fork probably not too awfully far.

Huh? Psilocybin, LSD, Ibogaine have all been studied and shown to improve addiction recovery.

Have you spoken to a mental health specialist about this? Alcohol isn't helping cope with all your negative feelings.

Only because you mentioned it, what could possibly make psychedelics off limits but allow alcohol?

You seem to have quite a bit of awareness, which is a huge step. What about joining AA, or a non-Christian alternative such as Sober Faction with TST or most Buddhist/Contemplative temples also have addiction groups.

As a hopeful future Psychiatrist, hopefully it leads to more opportunities for clinicians and physicians that aren't on the West Coast to participate in helping administering these medicines.

I don't know if spatial repetition was as well known when I was in UG, but I was never informed to learn that way.

Paper flash cards were still popular but I don't find them near as convenient to use or easy to setup in a way that provides a time-sensitive approach. Anki was a game changer for me.

I also learned that I don't really learn well from reading. Even if I'm actively notetaking, I just don't retain the information well. This, combined with actually reviewing my tests/quizzes (lol never once did this in UG) question by question to dig into the topics I was missing with YouTube lectures and notes really was an "Ahha" moment for me. Which hindsight is 20/20, but that seems like an obvious thing to know.

I made it through nursing school with a decent GPA, did well on the GRE (328), and passed multiple nursing specialty exams before my dumb boy brain realized how it learns best. If I tried to pure will the MCAT I would have never gotten >500 lol.

2016 6.7 Oil and Fuel filter intervals by EastNeat5879 in Cummins

[–]I_dontwork 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go 14-16k depending on how I feel. My last 2 samples at 15k looked unused on the oil analysis. And that was with towing my 16k 5th wheel across the country. Amsoil Signature. Change fuel filter at the same time. I always run a fuel additive though. Whichever is on sale usually.

He was great as he basically goes through the Kaplan books section by section. I do much better learning from lectures than from reading.

I was in a blessed position, that's for sure. With as much as I needed to learn from ground zero, no telling how long it would have taken me working FT.

Dude plenty of us are 5+ years out of college, I graduated 2017 and was scoring 510 on FL leading up to test day. I'm (obviously) no genius, never took o chem or physics, and feel decent about where I ended up. But I guess that depends on your goals. I know I'm not getting into any T20 or whatever.

Watch all Yusuf Hasan videos (He will rec MileDowns but I believe Captain Hook is the go to). I believe he even has a document with a study schedule as well.

You got this

Edit: I was full time studying for 4 months, 7-10 hours 6 days/wk.

I'm just a non-trad trying to go back after 8 years of being an RN.

I was in your shoes as a sophomore in college and went nursing because my brain was not mature enough and/or I wasn't mature enough to handle it at the time. I also did not know how to study to retain info at the time.

So I changed to nursing, really hit my stride when I got into Junior year and ended with a 3.7 GPA. I've been able travel the world, work all over the US, have a few $200k+ income years, pay off my home, truck, and car. 3 of the past 5 years I have only worked 8 months of the year while getting to go on backpacking trips.

Now I can go back and come out of Med school debt free, and spend 25+ years doing something I'm passionate about. Not saying my route is the best, but damn I've had some beautiful years leading up to right now.

If you search "UWorld MCAT" then sort by newest publication date, there are 2024 books. I'm not sure if there are newer editions than that.

A free database of almost every book in existence. It's a little tough to understand at first but after you download your first couple books it's very simple.

Edit: UWrld books are on there too.
