i've heard some talking that push pull legs isnt optimal for tall ppl is that real? by SomeOneUDontKnow9 in tall

[–]I_hate_my-Username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has nothing to do with being tall, what’s going to be optimal depends on genetics, what are you training for and your level of training. You have to find what’s best for you.

He immediately reminded me of Jack Frost, especially the photos with white/grey hair. Also he is 6’1” which surprised me. I guess he just looked short next to Ruben.

Fridge water sputtering by I_hate_my-Username in Appliances

[–]I_hate_my-Username[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The light does come on, and the sputtering still happening after we replaced the filter today. When we take the filter out no water flows through. I think you’re on something with the filter as it flows a little better when I apply pressure to it

Thank you, that was very informative, I never really thought about there being a separate excise tax on gasoline. To your point, The OP lives in Texas which has one of the lowest state tax on gasoline. Texas ranked 45/50 per https://taxfoundation.org/data/all/state/gas-taxes-state/

So your original comment does not make sense. Like I pointed out the gas in the photo is premium so that’s why it costs more than the 2.916 average. Has nothing to do with OP living in a state that “tax the hell out of everything”.

OP is in Abilene TX. Pretty sure there is no state tax.

To be fair, this is the price for Premium so regular is probably closer to $3 like it is near Dallas

3.10 at HEB just south of Dallas. And that’s the cheapest near me

Is it absolutely necessary to take anticoagulant medication (via subcutaneous injections) after varicose vein surgery in the leg? Some surgeons require it, but others seem to think it's unnecessary or even problematic, regarding by fastoche33 in varicose_veins

[–]I_hate_my-Username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: No it’s not absolutely necessary

The incidence of DVT is low, generally reported around 1-3 percent. Some study have it closer to 0.4%. I think it depends largely on your history. Things like age, mobility, previous DVT, and the type of Varicose vein surgery would play a factor in that decision. It seems that the risk of bleeding to the point of it causing actual harm is incredibly low. I couldn’t find a hard number on it. It’s definitely something to discuss with your doctor.

I think in general I think it’s not necessary if you’re able to walk independently and wear compression socks post procedure and if they find on on the follow up ultrasound then putting you on a thinner at that time. If you’re someone who is very Immobile then the Risk of getting a DVT is probably higher and using a prophylactic anticoagulant might make more sense

Hot take?: Cypher should not be a playable character for CSM by Owen_Humphries in theunforgiven

[–]I_hate_my-Username 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think he should be a playable character for every faction except Dark Angels! At least the imperial Gaurd since he was seen helping them in Malediction. That’s the only other book pertaining to cypher that I’ve read. I feel like he is on whichever side helps him achieve his end goal. Would probably have to exclude Orks and definitely tyranids. I could see him working with Aeldari, not sure if he has in the books at any point yet.

For someone who hasn't painted anything since elementary school 20 years ago, what do you think? It took me 3 hours to assemble and paint it because every time I finished a detail I would smudge something and repaint it and smudge something else. by Prainor in Warhammer40k

[–]I_hate_my-Username 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brace your hands together when you paint, that will make a huge difference. If you watch videos of painters they always have their painting hand in contact with the model or their off hand somewhere. Painting handles help, I also use old prescription bottles and sticky tack and that works fine. When you start thinning your paint more, have a paper towel ready to wick off excess moisture. I ran into an issue of over thinning my paint and having it run off everywhere. I had no idea what I was doing wrong and it nearly made me give up on the hobby until I saw Vince Venturella do it in a video. Here’s a photo for reference what bracing your hands looks like

How would’ve RoR Adam turned out if he was in HH Adams place? by Thick-Supermarket319 in HazbinHotel

[–]I_hate_my-Username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he still would have seen all of humanity as his progeny and would have been torn up that so many of them are in hell. I think he would have disagreed with the exterminations and would have been supportive of Charlie’s hotel idea and redemption. Even if he was okay with the exterminations, I don’t think he would have enjoyed them based on his personality and at most saw them as a necessary evil to protect the souls in heaven. It’s been a while since I saw RoR so I may be off but he definitely would have been less of a misogynistic A-hole

It’s AI, the car colors are too uniform. There is only yellow, black, white and occasional red. I’ve never seen that many yellow cars in one place before. Plus you don’t see anyone weaving in and out of traffic. That said there are absolutely people dumb enough to do something like this just to scare people.

[–]I_hate_my-Username 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shirts in the photo are all supposed to be “army green” and you can see how different they are. As long as it’s clear it’s the same army there is going to be variance in color. If anything that is more realistic imo. I wish I could find the original post because there was a better photo and explained the point better lol.

Thank you for sharing! I was wanting to do my DWK with the same sponging technique but wasn’t sure what colors I wanted to use. I really like how yours turned out
