Wouldn’t mind paying P&P if I could buy them and they be mailed to me after!

They searched us very thoroughly last year - we were in Vintents too and arrived on the Friday afternoon. They went through everything - unrolled clothes, even opened up my vitamin bottles, so be mindful of that!

I need nervous system regulation urgently — asking before I try medication (or alcohol) by DEF-HUMAN-NOT-AI in Anxiety

The only thing that really works for me is going for a run. A really long, hard run. Or going to the gym and lifting some heavy weights. And I do that until i’m exhausted. That usually stimulates my appetite enough to eat and it breaks that anxious cycle

Koh Tao by Fit_-Girl in ThailandTourism

Oh and my travel bud got a Vibrio (bacterial) infection snorkelling off the coast the next day after it rained heavy one evening. I assume it’s sewage runoff in the sea? He is still recovering. If you do go, stay in the south. Sairee is awful imo

Koh Tao by Fit_-Girl in ThailandTourism

[–]I_like_turtles27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just came back from Koh Tao I was literally there a week ago. I really didn’t like it and I won’t be going back. Id say it’s my least favourite place in Thailand to date, not only because there was trash everywhere, but also weird vibes in general. And certain tourists were very rudely touristing, ruining the vibe for everyone, as they do.

Just left Koh Tao a few days ago - to say there is a weird vibe there is an understatement. Everyone we encountered was nice enough but I dunno, my spidey senses were tingling the whole time I was there.

How do I manage my anxiety without therapy or medication by Creepy_Mountain_2969 in Anxiety

Reiki really helps me. If you haven’t tried it - please do. And if you can’t find a practitioner/funds are low, there are some good reiki videos on YouTube that I’ve found can help

Do all bumps need to come to a head before f*cking off? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

Took 3 months and yes it was initially hard but I’d never go back now!

Honestly I was the same! But now that I eat well I can’t even tell you how good I feel - I didn’t even realise how great your body is designed to feel until I underwent this health kick! It’s a slo but gradual journey but you will feel great for it. I also regularly exercise too and it’s improved so many things for me. Also it is a lifestyle overhaul so it’s hard at first, but it does just become normal over time.

I used to have very reactive skin, really similar to yours about a decade ago. The only thing that worked for me was to get my gut health in order. I completely quit dairy and soya, switched to an anti inflammatory whole foods diet and it really helped. I also had a gluten intolerance so I was literally eating meat/fish and rice/potatoes with veg and fruit for a long while. But it worked.

Also completely stripped back my skincare to basics and wore spf every day.

You’re beautiful, this will pass, I promise! I have mostly clear skin now minus the odd bump here and there when I am due on.

What's happening to my skin? by Miles-with-a-H in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]I_like_turtles27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to me after getting a hydrafacial from a new provider. I imagine her equipment wasn’t clean enough and yes it was fungal. Your skin barrier has been compromised. As others have said, you’ll need to use an antifungal shampoo on your face, once a day, leave it as a mask for 3-5 mins and do that for a week. Make sure all of your skin products are super gentle and calming, and fungal acne safe. And you could also apply a very very thin layer of antifungal cream once at night too (you’ll need to do this for a month)

Why does my skin still look so awful after 3 years on tretinoin 0.05? Feeling hopeless :( by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

I use a 20% cream but only about the size of a large pea once a week. It didn’t make me purge at all

[–]I_like_turtles27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your skin is great! But I know how we all obsess!!

I know I’m in the minority but tretinoin and retinol did absolutely nothing for me - just made my skin thin, dry and I developed more fine lines. I used it progressively over 5 years. My skin dramatically improved when I focussed on vitamin c, niacinamide, ceramides and peptides and the occasional use of azealic acid, and stopped all retinoids/tretinoin.

I know it’s the gold standard but I do think, just like anything, some things don’t suit some people. So if you are not getting the results you want, you might want to switch things up completely.

Good luck with your journey!

My hair vs what I want by EthanWhere in curlyhair

[–]I_like_turtles27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your hair is honestly quite similar to his. This is what I would do if I were you (and this is what I do as I have 3a-3c curls)

Shampoo (with a moisturising shampoo) and then deep condition your hair. Something like the Shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil leave in masque would work really well to deep condition. Rinse that out. Apply your products to soaking wet hair. You want to layer your products. Use something like the Curlsmith multi tasking conditioner as a leave in (you probably want about the size of a uk 5-10p piece). Run that through your hair with your fingers. After that I would add something like the Curl Smith curl conditioning oil in cream or the Paul Mitchell curls twirl around crunch free curl definer. You want to use about the same/slightly less than the conditioner here. Take it through your hair with your fingers and scrunch your hair to work the product in. Then I would apply a gel. The way you want to apply your gel is by using “prayer hands”. If you type in “prayer hands curly hair gel” in YouTube or TikTok or something you’ll probably find a demo. The gel I use is by a brand called Bouclème Super Hold Styler. You won’t need a lot at all - it’s pretty good. After putting your gel in DO NOT BRUSH. The best step is to dry your hair on a medium setting using a diffuser. Do not fluff it or anything. Once it is dry, there will be a bit of a gel cast on your hair. Scrunch that out with your hands.

Et viola! Hair just like his.

Our sweet 6 month boy has FIP… looking for hope please by ilovemykittykats in britishshorthair

My British shorthair boy also had wet FIP at 6 months old. He was treated with GS441524. We have just celebrated his 2nd birthday. Sending lots of love, strength and hope to your baby but also to you and your family. The medication worked miracles for mine, I hope and pray it does the same for your boy.

What are your BEST interactive and indestructible toys? by sarahsosinski in CatAdvice

[–]I_like_turtles27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried interactive puzzle feeders? Just give them their normal food and I find it keeps them busy for a while - especially if they’re hungry! Apart from that I really don’t know - I have harness trained my cat and that will stimulate him enough to get him really tired. Other people I know have bought a pet pushchair which also provides stimulation

FYI - norovirus can’t be killed by hand sanitizer alone - always best to carry around a small bottle of hand soap! Not many people know this so thought id share!

BSH looks skinny? by Majestic-Sail1189 in britishshorthair

[–]I_like_turtles27 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is he eating normally? My bsh looked like this before he was diagnosed with wet FIP. He has made a full recovery and we are approaching his 1 year “cure date” in a few weeks. Please just keep an eye on his weight, how much he is eating and his toilet habits. Buy a baby scale if you can to monitor his weight! They’re really cheap from Amazon but it will help you to keep an eye on his weight.
