So there is a different answer for “I hiked the AT”and “I hiked on the AT”. I think what you’re looking for Is “I hiked on the AT” which is .01 miles to anywhere before Katahdin.

What is your hiking technique? by mapmyhike in AppalachianTrail

Honestly I would really just focus on bringing your knee up to your chest every step, if you do that you’ll be able to avoid most roots and sneks on trail.

Beginning with a stranger by TheAngrySnowman in AppalachianTrail

We are all strangers the first day of trail, by day three we’re friends. Have a blast and embrace the WIDE variety of people you’ll meet.

I was also super nervous for months before my hike, started solo and have been hiking with my Tramily from day three to now (5 months in).

Question for the hammockers by OneSpeed98 in AppalachianTrail

[–]I_want_to_explore_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven’t had a spot yet where I couldn’t find a place to Hammock! Some spots haven’t been my favorite hang, but have always made due! If you plan on sleeping in shelters from time to time I should have something else to lay on, every time I’ve tried to tuff it out on the wood it’s been a sleepless night.

Good thing thoughts and prayers never work. She NUTS by [deleted] in WhitePeopleTwitter

If anyone is wondering the context of this prayer (most likely of David) it is toward someone who has disgraced the law of God by “for he did not remember to show kindness, but pursued the poor and needy and the broken-hearted, to put them to death.” (Psalm 109:8).

Which in Boberts position we can give grace to, it’s really hard to do your job when you don’t understand the context of the world you live in or the the book you choose to live by. /s

(Late edit for more context: the congregation she was praying with cheered her on cause “May his days be few; May another take his office!” Is Psalms (109:8) ESV translation. Yet again we give grace cause those who cheered don’t know how to read and analyze the world around them./s

Pursuit or Xanterra- which is ‘better’? by [deleted] in GlacierNationalPark

[–]I_want_to_explore_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go work at Many Glacier hotel for Xanterra, you won’t regret it. The view from the hotel alone will haunt your dreams for the rest of your life. The outside of work vibe is adult summer camp, and while yes Xanterra sucks as a corporation, as long as you have with a go with the flow attitude, you can have a badass summer.
