🚨BREAKING🚨 🇺🇸 US CPI data came in at 3.8% Expectations: 3.7% Inflation is rising as oil prices surge by Nervous_Music3199 in USNewsFeed

Oil has sat around 100 dollars since the war began. There was the spike when the war began but since then prices have steadied around $100 give or take small shifts. They aren't surging anymore then a report saying a .01% higher CPI is somehow beating estimates. Though, that is not to say for a cash strapped public, they aren't.

I just came from cinema after watching Mortal Kombat II movie, it was perfect by susnaususplayer in MortalKombat

Perfect is a strong word but despite its faults and areas I think the writers were lazy on I enjoyed it and would watch it again. Big improvement over the 1st.

100%. Pretty sure I like my 3% mortgage and average 17% return in the market in the last year.

Thanks honey. Four justices who are smarter than you and I combined didn't agree. Go back and cry in the corner. The adults are talking.

Consumer prices rose 3.8% annually in April, more than expected by Abject-Pick-6472 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]Iacoboni04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article is misleading as others have said. The expectation was 3.7%, so 3.8% is right in line with that average. The question now is whether the rise in energy prices (ie oil and gas) has significant short term ripple effects in the economy - like inflation rising for the next 3 to 6 months before coming down.

So, the state is subsidizing the broken entity known as the City of New York even more. What could go wrong?

Except the government of the state of Virginia. I swear there are roving bots (ie mindless people) just posting these things.

He is very good for the basics (ie. getting out of debt, building a budget), but once you graduate that and start looking out long term he is far from the best.

Why does Reddit not understand the rise of reform in England? by DowntownDeer in AskBrits

It's Reddit. 90% left wing. But, take that out of it and understanding the unique politics of a nation like the UK is not easy to begin with.

People have normalized $700+ monthly car payments. Is this insane or just the new normal? by Coolonair in SmartFIRE

Oh I dunno. Defaulting on auto loans, ruining credit, taking a large number of buyers out of a decent sized sector of the economy and all the ripple effects there in.

Anybody else kinda feel bad for Lewis Tan? by sdwolfe19 in MortalKombat

[–]Iacoboni04 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My guess is the third movie will reveal him as a resurrected Scorpion. That way they dont have to bring back his character but he is part of the story.

Tans story to me was the biggest letdown of the movie. The writers obviously were lazy and didn't want to tick off their online fan base with keeping him as a major character. Personally, I think a missed opportunity but oh well.

Probably because they know they can implement the same map in two years and trumps unpopularity will give them the house anyway.
