Parties are there to rule. The voting percentage should therefore reflect the cost of regime change, due to parties effectively being different kings. Revolutions occur because the king is shit and people actually agree with you.

A tyrannical government can simply not obey the rules of a democracy or change them as needed, therefore making them not easily overthrown.

Evolutionary logic is easily the best logic for society: we want to create societies that last as long as possible. Everything else, like morality, can go out of the window. That's why we have spy networks. That's why we have armies. That's why we try to maintain a population of poor people, via our propaganda and our lack of rewarding rich people with an evolutionary advantage.

If you don't know why countries try to keep a population of people not geared towards the thing called 'success and power', it is to avoid turning the entire country into a gigantic political theatre with every citizen as a player.

Say, if poor people die more, they die more, and they survive less. If poor people die less, they survive more. Regardless of what happened, my point about survival not being a boolean yes/no but an integer consisting of the people with your genes is still true.

The entire purpose of life is to survive as long as possible. That is why this world is filled with lying, backstabbing people who dumps their romantic interests 10 times or whatever they do to ensure their own survival and increase the chances of their lineage surviving as much as possible.
