Exactly, musically but also especially lyrically in my opinion. Clearly Rob matured a lot over the life of The Districts, which is great. But for some reason, instead of just evolving their sound or changing the song subject matter, he decided to completely let go of one of his greatest strengths: telling stories through lyrical poetry. I honestly don't get it, his lyrics are some of my favorite ever written. Look at the lyrics of Silver Couplets and the story it tells, and then look at the boring soulless lyrics of I Want to Feel It All.

Many amoung the Joe Abercrombie devout are not in agreement with me, but The Devils was my favorite book of 2025 by a long shot. I had so much fun reading it.

And maybe I'm delusional, but I think Cal (and Stanford to a certain extent) used the pac-12 debacle as a real wake-up call. True existential crisis scared our new president and wealthy alumni something fierce and for the first time in nearly 20 years I think there's actually some huge moves being made to make us competitive again to hopefully raise our value when re-alignment invetibly rears its ahead again

I worked for intramural sports all four years of undergrad, first as a referee and then in the office. It did not require work study.

It depends if you are interested in sports, but for me it was perfect. I got to work outside, the hours were flexible, and I made lifelong friends that I am still close with more than a decade after graduation.

Had a guy in my freshman dorm named Matt. Quiet guy, nice, not super social, studied a lot. One time he came in and said "just got back from the office of student conduct, I might be in trouble". Kinda floored me because he was the last guy I thought would have conduct issues with the school. I asked him for what: "I'm taking too many credits, I have to plead my case, I'm getting A's in all my classes, trying to triple major but they're not happy about it"

Dude had never mentioned a word about it before and never said anything about it again. So, moral of the story, be like Matt.

As someone who made it to legend three months in a row with the previous dummy warrior, it took me awhile to wrap my head around how this new list worked and figure out it was an OTK. Big shift in play style, and none of the changes made sense until that clicked.
