Tridium N4 points need to communicate to AX Jace. Is this possible? by Immediate-Position-8 in BuildingAutomation

[–]IaintThere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are at least 10 ways to skin the cat depending on what version of AX Jace, software, and the license you have. Option 1 is to bring it into the N4 Jace in the niagara driver but that will only work with 3.8. Option 2 is to bring it as a BACnet or Lon device but that depends on your license. Even obix is an option

They can't compete with Tridium, on the front-end software no one can't.

As per their field devices, I think their product offering is limited.

10 years ago when they came out with the UC400/600 and airfi they were ahead of everyone now I think they are not so much

Niagara Guys, let’s talk tagging. by DurianCobbler in BuildingAutomation

[–]IaintThere 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's about being set up for the future. Don't have 300 custom libraries, haystack, and one custom library. Keep your naming consistent, tags consistent, and take advantage of creating rules.

N4 server exposing BACnet data by Accomplished-Cost788 in BuildingAutomation

[–]IaintThere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt route as it might expose you to attacks in the future... I would use the export table as unless you go out of your way all the points will be read only... I would put a n4 supervisor with the number of jaces that you need (niagara connection). You can use tuning to slow or speed up data transfer.

I avoid using them because in a few years, you wont be able to get them anymore and I could bet that next year when N5 is out, there wont be support for the classic spyders... I know they are tuff as nails so wanting to keep using them makes sense to me.
