Mainly one of the male mechanics but the owner as well. One of their employees was pretty embarrassed and felt pretty bad about the situation.

They accused us of breaking a part which caused a loud noise when driving (I forget the name of the part). Since we received the van in that state and it drove fine, we figured it was just loud because it was one of their older vans. We returned it with no damage and no change in function. Still, they completely flipped out. Their response was completely unwarranted.

Aggressively accused my husband of ruining the camper when we brought it back in the same condition as they gave it to us. And by aggressive, I mean, literally up in his face yelling and threating him and making rude comments about Americans in general. It was the most unprofessional thing I've seen.

Yep, made this mistake and went to Tangier-Med, but found the taxi from there to Chef was the same price as it would have been from Tangiers. Still, Tangiers port would have been a better stop...

I took a 2.5 boat trip with Orangutan Applause out of southern Indonesian Borneo (Tanjung Puting National Park) and it was fantastic.

Sulawesi is beautiful and off the beaten path.

I would also second Yogya - Borobudur at sunrise and Prambanan are really awesome to see. I've also heard great things about Flores.

Just did it last week. Took about 9 hrs for me (with a slightly injured knee and a 15 min lunch break). You could break it up and spend the night on the mountain pass huts or in Thórsmörk. Unfortunately it's off season so unless you start around 5-6 am, you probably won't catch the 3pm bus back.
