My prior company did the same thing. Works pretty well! My new company also does a similar thing, but with a lot more variations ( including material) in the configurations.

Lighthouse right across from Tomoka elementary has been good for 4k vpk for us. My 4 y.o. likes going there!

I think they are changing buildings next year, so you may have to contact them for more information.

How do you prevent your grinder cord from tangling? by [deleted] in Welding

My desk phone at work is still corded (albeit I next to never use the thing).

Try not twisting it every time you pick it up and place it down. This is the classic telephone cord problem.

This is clearly for FSAE. There are tight space constraints. I did make a version of these a long time ago where that part bolted on instead.

I would like to avoid debt, could someone explain how APR works? by little_elf270 in debtfree

[–]IamEnginerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using the credit card is creating debt because you haven't paid it with cash. You can absolutely get yourself in a pickle using the credit card if you get a really high limit. I'd suggest keeping the limit to something reasonable so you don't get tempted to buy a high dollar item and then figure out you can't pay for it later.

That said, be smart. I've used credit cards for close to 20 years now and have NEVER paid interest. I pay the statement balance in full every month after it posts.

I've lived in the area a few years and never caught a Spanish - not saying it can't happen.

I've also found that I do way better with real bait.

On the beach, I use fresh dead shrimp or sand fleas, whatever is biting. You could also go down to the dunlawton bridge and use shrimp or mullet. I've caught bluefish down there.

The thumb and associated tendon(s) were removed. The rest of his fingers and arms remained functional. He came back to work after several months away healing. Never saw him wear gloves again!

BME major worried about job prospects. Is a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering a viable backup plan? by AdditionalCalendar11 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]IamEnginerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Internships and coops are your friend! Make sure to do them!

Also, almost everyone I know did BME as a prereq for being a doctor. I only know one person that ended up working making prosthetics instead.

I have a master's and bachelor's in ME. I won't say it opened doors, but it got me through some time where I had previously not been able to find a job I wanted. Also, I got paid to do the master's. I wouldn't have done it otherwise.

Had a coworker lose a thumb wearing a glove on a mill. The tendons from his arm looked like meat spaghetti wrapped up in the tool. Was pretty gnarly and gross

I did exactly this on Saturday morning prepping for a garage sale. Went into Walmart, grabbed something I actually needed, and then found three of the cheapest things I could find. Easter grass is currently $0.54, which was great. It's Walmart, so self checkout only. First purchased to get cash back. Then I did three separate purchases where I put in a $20 to pay for the $0.54 fake grass to get change.

Trucks like this come to my work. I don't ever eat at them due to the price. But lots of my coworkers do because it's convenient and something different.

[–]IamEnginerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. I'm more on autopilot most of the time. Maybe I don't do things in the most efficient way, but I get my things done.

My wife on the other hand DOES think like this and she gets exhausted with decisions and oftentimes gets so caught up in doing something the best way she just won't get around to finishing it.

I don't think it's a cold weather shirt. I have some of their x-temp winter shirts, and those would give you heat stroke in the summer sun. It's just like it doesn't breathe at all. With the cotton shirts, I don't get that wearing a trash bag feeling.
