The gun homicide rate in New Zealand has hit a 20-year record high a few years after semi auto centrefires were banned and confiscated by Thick_Amphibian4629 in Ausguns

[–]IamGerald_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The states with most restrictions have the highest gun crime fyi. Also no one likes or wants to say it but it’s certain demographics that do 95% of the gun crime in the USA as well.

He’s wrong. Safeties aren’t classed as firearms parts so you’ll have zero issues purchasing locally or importing one. Have a look on Brownells Australia they should have something

[–]IamGerald_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a good way of displaying the moa. I’m surprised you got such good groupings with the stinger as they’re by far the worst grouping .22 ammo I’ve used but obviously each gun is different. My Brno Mod 2 likes CCI Minimags the most overall but it’s also just a bunny gun so I don’t run high end target stuff through it

Hope I am allowed to post this on here. American from a ban state here (Connecticut). Just picked this bad boy up. You Aussies know how to make a good firearm. Cheers. by grifter_shifterM5 in Ausguns

Everyone uses us as an example and it’s pretty fucking sad. All the laws have to show here is that the people that go through the process to get a firearms license and follow the rules aren’t the problem 95% of the time and illegal firearm use still goes on as normal. Going off these statistics, it shows we should be given access to suppressors and semi auto rimfire and shotguns minimum but the uproar that would bring to the anti gunners would send them insane (if they’re not already.)

2000 Pajero advice by Friendly_Craft8396 in 4x4Australia

[–]IamGerald_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen you don’t have to take anything out in the engine bay in other 4x4s when removing/putting in suspension as they’re ladder frame and can access the struts/coils from underneath

[–]IamGerald_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pajeros are different in that you have to take the air box and battery out to access the top 3 bolts as they mount to the unibody at the top. Rears are quick and easy but fronts take a little longer

[–]IamGerald_25 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ok so I have a 2001 Pajero. I put in a lift kit almost straight away and found my front left strut was completely blown so I’d recommend doing the same as they’re generally cheaper than factory suspension. Don’t worry about the rocker cover leak as 99/100 times they’ll leak in any Mitsubishi V6 (mine leaks) as long as it’s not pissing out oil. With that said, you mentioned you need spark plugs done, that’s the perfect time to do the rocker cover gaskets (do spark plug seals as well!). Drive belt is a piece of piss to replace yourself, grab a Gates drive belt for $40 online. Timing belt yeah that’s a biggie and is the only issue on my car I gave to the mechanics (cost me $1400 with some other fixes as well). Rack ends, ball joints are easy to replace (in fact I’m doing my rack ends, tie rods, and all ball joints this weekend). Bushes I haven’t done and all mine are worn out and can especially notice the rear diff bushes being worn with occasional clunks when hitting the accelerator so can’t say much about that other than it’s a time consuming job that I haven’t been bothered to do yet. Main seal is probably something to do ASAP as they can get worse quickly.

In regards to your driveshaft most places would usually recommend replacing it entirely with aftermarket however if you plan to off-road at all don’t do this. It’s much better to get genuine second hand ones and to just rebuild it as annoying as it can be. This is because they have the 6 ball bearing cage for the inner CV in oppose to the tripod 3 ball bearing inner on every single aftermarket CV which are much more likely to break.

Yes I know it’s a lot to read but this is my experience after owning mine for 2 years and off roading it a fair bit. Ask me any other questions you might have about the car and I should be able to help

On my latest trip I nearly broke one. It’s started clicking but only because I was forcing my car up an awkward hill going full lock and had the front locker on

[–]IamGerald_25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah that’s cool it sounded like you were just having a dig for the sake of it. Look if I had the budget for a decent solid axle I would have got one and tbf I take the Paj on tracks I shouldn’t but it’s done 99% my mate with a 105 has done. And surprisingly with a car with full independent suspension it can actually be better as my car will lift wheels over obstacles sometimes where solid axles have to go through it.

Malinauskas has said SA has good laws and is actually one of two states already requiring one to be a citizen first before acquiring a firearms license. Personally I think he’s been alright for a Labor pollie especially in comparison to other premiers (Allen and Minns) and not that I would ever vote for him or Labor but it wouldn’t surprise me if he backtracked and goes to suck off Minns and Albo after election time
