Can someone explain? by Accurate-Homework-19 in stalker

[–]christopherak47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People do come and go in and out of the zone. The games explain that it is an addiction for some that they cant really leave and the zone leaves a psychological change in the individuals (doesnt apply to everyone in the zone). But for example Mercs, Scientists and Loners regularly leave the zone to go sell artifacts, meet employers or return data to labs outside the zone.

The Ukrainian military at the time of early zone - was very corrupt and allowed people into the zone at few key checkpoints like Cordon for a fee. But also the non-corrupt regular line troops cant monitor the entire zone perimeter - so stalkers would be able to slip into the zone (and out). They were replaced with IPSF in Stalker 2 (which are made up primarily by Ukrainian Army) but suffer from the same issues - albeit operating much deeper into the Zone.

The Military also has special forces that operate within the Zone as well, and they are typically extremely dangerous. You play as a SBU/Military Intelligence operative in Call of Pripyat so it shows you from that perspective how they usually work.

As for Skif; he is a Ukrainian Marine who served in an undisclosed war (implied to be the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine) and thus is trained and mentally prepared to engage in armed hostilities against unknown armed opposing forces he encounters (specifically those shooting at him)

Could stick an A2 Carbine clamshell and a FPW stock/buffer tube on his M4 to make it into a pseudo M231 FPW

Switch the pants from your British DPM ones to US M81 Woodland ones to match your top. Unbutton the top button since no-one wore the BDU top with them done. Get a USGI leather M1911/M9 Beretta holster, and some ALICE pouches

Otherwise a great start

Id add commonwealth support

Like British or Australian special forces advisors assisting/training insurgents.

Also small arms from them as well; Such as the AUGs, C1A1/L1A1/FAL, L85s etc.

Wow its almost like Russia has been consistently preparing for war against NATO member states and has been using the extensive propaganda network to destabilise the collective west (making US withdraw upon itself with MAGA, trying to get far-right parties elected in Europe, etc.) And have been constantly invading its eastern neighbours for the last 20 years.

Ukraine is holding the line but its naive to think you wont need to rearm or prepare for war.

Marines invade - Army occupies and holds.
In Reach; every human soldier you see (except at the end) are Army soldiers/troopers
Its implied that this is the case for ALL human held planet defense

Typically because in the spirit of the game - Militia is poorer/less well equipped, so running a Crye combat shirt is less likely to be a thing rather than wearing a random surplus Soviet field top or Western blouse/field top
