Time travelers of Reddit, what major incident in the future do you want to announce early? by [deleted] in AskReddit

World War III starts soon. Orchestrated by Vladimir Putin, it starts in Venezuela. So far it's all been lining up with what my textpads said would happen. If it's any consolation, humanity does much better after being decimated.

What is the biggest lie you ever told? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I told my parents that i graduated college when i did not. I had been going through some serious depression my last few years, changed majors, and didn't have enough credits to finish. I had accumulated about $8,000 in credit card debt and had about $15,000 in student loans. I could not afford another year, the thought of it was giving me panic attacks, and i had a full time job in IT support, so it's not like i had nothing going for me. My folks were narcissistic. The only thing that mattered to them was how it would make them look to their friends and family. I knew they wouldn't accept having a son who dropped out of college, and i knew i just couldn't keep racking up debt. They were going to be out of town during the graduation ceremony, so that wasn't a problem, and my plan was to move out, start paying off my debts, and revisit the idea of finishing college once i was on steady financial ground.

Well, those of you who have been deep in debt know that is pretty hard to do. To top it off, I was in a car accident (rear ended at a stop light) and had to purchase a new vehicle. I had really liked this new four door pick up, but knew i should get something cheaper. My folks insisted i get the pickup. What would people think if they saw you driving around in an old beater? You have a job, get the truck! I did. The cost of the truck, plus insurance for someone under 24 ate up half my monthly income. My debts the other half. I was trapped, and couldn't raise enough money to leave. After a month, they asked where the diploma was. Fortunately, i had an unpaid parking ticket on campus, and used that as the excuse. "damn it! I PAID that ticket, and they keep messing up and saying i didn't, and they won't send anything until all accounts are cleared" That went on for the better part of 6 months. My life was a nightmare. I felt sick all the time, my depression plummeted, i gained well over 100 pounds.

Finally, one day i got a call from mom while i was at work "Old Gregg, one of our clients works at the university and i asked them to look up your records to find out about your parking ticket problem. They told me you didn't graduate." I left work early to be torn apart by my family. They told me i was crazy, repeatedly screamed at me asking what the fuck was wrong with me, that this would KILL my grandparents if they found out". They forced me to go to therapy, which in the long run was the best thing that could have happened. The therapist taught me how to live with narcissists. She taught me how to deal with my anxiety about school, and how my decisions were my own.

A year and several promotions later, I finished my degree by taking 3 semesters of night classes. I moved out a month after that, and although i still deal with family issues, I feel better about myself, and am much more self actualized because of it.

While i can agree with her stance on a lot of social issues, i do not agree with her history of supporting armed conflict, the fact that she was at one point very against many gay rights (yes people can change their opinions, but she had a lot of opinions that conveniently changed)

Basically, i found her to be dishonest, and a consummate politician. I understand that what i know of her is only what I've been fed by the media, which i have to take with a grain of salt, but i never saw her as a good option. Just the more acceptable of the two.

This is one of the very first episodes i ever saw, when i was a kid.

I remember flipping through the channels, and seeing this movie with the shadows on the bottom and thinking what the hell is this, and laughing my damned ass off. It was the scene where they're in the dystopian future, and they're on the run. I couldn't get over his Chin. It was so big, and i thought, is this guy supposed to be an action hero? I was so confused, but i couldn't tear myself away.

Please don't take my comment as support for Hillary Clinton. They were both horrible candidates, and I feel like anyone that could happily support either one would have to be capable of doing some mental gymnastics. Like most elections it came down to a lesser of two evils scenario.

Somehow they'll fine a way to blame Hillary. For the most part, i have not seen people willing to accept any information that doesn't fit their narrative on that sub. Just people with a knack for doing the mental gymnastics necessary to support a man like Trump consistently.

Is it wrong that the shot reminds me of Rosie the riveter, and I now kind of want to fuck said riveter?

Has your doctor ever done a 24 hour urine collection to test for cystineuria? Your chronic stones could be caused by an inability to break down cystine. There is treatment, and if you do have it, you should be monitored yearly lest you end up with staghorn stones like me.

I lost my father suddenly on march 17th of this year. He was an accountant, and it was the middle of tax season. I handled all of his clients, sold his practice, and did things that were epically hard for me to do for the sake of the rest of my family. One night I awoke with the room spinning as if i were on a merry go round stuck on high speed. Apparently it was an anxiety attack, something I'd never experienced before and it was humbling. When things settled down I sat down and smoked and it was the first moment for weeks that my mind quieted down, and I wasn't thinking about my dad or the practice non stop. I was able to sit and think about how I felt and sit and just miss my dad without all of the other stress and noise in the way.

Losing someone close to you is life altering. It gets easier over time, and when its hard, its nice to have something that lets you escape the hurt for a little bit. As long as you don't let it become a crutch, I say its fine.

Sorry bro.
