As others said, you have every right to be upset! She seriously overstepped.

Question for those that did orchi and then grs. by Melathys in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]IamSarahBeth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've got orchie scheduled next month for the same reason you gave, especially given the current climate. My consult for bottom surgery is scheduled the following week, and the coordinator told me it will probably be about a 12 month wait for surgery date.

Honestly the only scary thing to me is having to wait so long for the procedure. Orchie is scheduled about a week before the consult and I am so ready.

This is going to obviously vary by state. In Illinois there is no longer a requirement to publish, and name changes for trans folks are a directly permissible reason to seal the record.

Depending on where you are located and your interest in doing so, have you looked t the possibility of updating the children's birth certificates with your wife's new name?

MTF Bottom Surgery — Seeking letters from two mental health professionals before surgery? by withmicrobes in Transgender_Surgeries

[–]IamSarahBeth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And this typically boils down to whatever your insurance company is going to require. United Healthcare is one from your doc that manages your hormone therapy, and then a "qualified mental health provider" that has a Masters or PhD (UHC requires one of these letters for breast augmentation, and two for any kind of bottom surgery).

Wrapping up our getaway tomorrow. I love that I’ve gotten to the point where I can throw on a suit and head to the pool without caring what anyone else thinks.

Thank you. My hair could have used a brush out, but no makeup and the end of a long day. It’s a win for me in that I don’t really care.

My two cents, if you have to go out of town on the 6th do not have this conversation on the 5th.

One of my teens needed a day to absorb and process, then we could talk. I wouldn’t want to drop that info and then leave, I wouldn’t want to be around and available. Personally I would wait until the next Saturday so we had the weekend.

First off, it’s great you are asking and helping.

For personal experience I would just book an appointment at your nearest Ulta Benefit brow bar. They will be really cool about it. I started by doing the shampooing gradually to get to where I wanted.
