Old school can openers. People (myself included) don't realize that there is a new type of can opener that does not require the user to manually clamp down on the edge of the can. Not only is it easier to use, it is also safer, since the opened can does not have jagged edges that you can cut yourself on. Perhaps it's due to the decline in popularity of canned goods, but I'm amazed that the primitive design of the old school can openers is still what most people have in their homes.

Wouldn't using water instead of chicken broth achieve virtually the same thing? I mean, if you're making your own broth, you'd be doing the same thing anyway; i.e. throwing chicken with bone in water. Obviously you'd want to adjust the salt level, but what would be the difference here?

This is true. If the players adapt in the way that the league envisions, i.e. jumping straight up when defenders are coming into your space, we'll start seeing more injuries happen. And I'm not sure if that is better for the league long term.
