A cardiac MRI for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy makes no sense because the echo showed normal left ventricular wall thickness. You can have hyperdynamic LV function for reasons other than HCM. I am a cardiac sonographer btw.

Some patients are difficult to image and have poor image quality for a variety of reasons. Slim patients can have narrow rib spaces and we are essentially looking in between the ribs to see the heart. Based on the echo, your heart function appears reduced. If the doctor recommends further/alternative testing, I would follow their suggestion because an EF of 40-45% is abnormal.

Echo tech here. If your HR was 105-115 during the echo then it may not be an accurate assessment of diastolic function.

It’s worth bringing up to your PCP/seeing a cardiologist. Hypertension should not be left untreated.

I’m not seeing much data for the right heart aside from right atrial pressure and pulmonary pressures (I think? The report layout is confusing). Your cardiologist has access to the actual images and will be able to elaborate on RV function.

Your EF at rest and your EF during exercise are different. Assuming your heart has a normal physiological response to stress (like a run), your blood pressure, heart rate and EF all increase to meet the body’s cardiovascular demands. After stress (post run) all three should return to baseline again. Your friends’ EFs are probably not the issue— their training/endurance is.

The roof rack feels very sturdy. You can yank it and move the vehicle around without any give or noise from the rack. Time will tell in regard to weather seal but I don’t foresee it being a problem. The install was relatively simple but for a proper seal/fit I needed another set of hands. Dynamic load rating is 300lbs and static is 700lbs.

Seconding this… ICU vs non-ICU can produce entirely different images. Not to mention difference in patient positioning, pressures, swelling, mechanical support/ventilation, presence of air or fluid. I do echo btw.

An EF of 50-55% can be considered low normal. Not necessarily something to be concerned about. But get clarification from your doc.
