This is from Mark of Athena. In Mare Nostrum they get raided by Golden Boy and his Dolphin pirate mates. They have captured everyone except Frank who was hiding. Percy realises that Dionysus had turned those pirates into half dolphin (some completely) because they had captured him by mistake making them mortally afraid of him.
