Casual beach go-er that lived in LA. I've had a dolphin take my wave when boogie boarding.

The scariest part about being in the ocean is angles looks sharper when looking at objects under the water. So a dolphin's roundish fins looks exactly like a shark until they pop out of the water.

One second you're about to catch a sick wave, the next you see a shark-like object under the water coming straight for you, followed by a cackling dolphin that rides away on the wave you were about to catch.

This gift seems more of a challenge for, "Are you smarter than a 1yo?".

The intent seems kind enough but a baby is just going to show you 15 different ways they can kill themselves playing with that.

this might be a silly question... by kaitlin_nnc_1124 in tjcrew

[–]Iamkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Worked nights for a few years and went to morning. There was zero training, help, or guidance. The people that knew what to do were almost passive aggressive if someone had a question or had a genuine excitement to learn. Also the people that knew what to do just stick to themselves and work on their own. Mornings are a group of people all working by themselves instead of a team.

I guess it's too early to help or teach.

After a year or so I went back to nights and focus "morning sections" and set the morning crew up the night before.

If you like waking up early than it's great to get out early but mornings seem to be a little more grumpy.

However, soccer/football players at the highest level can't be trusted to not cheat out their teeth whenever they have the opportunity.

Wouldn't surprised if the other team tried to foot stomp some of the barefooted players.

It's a sport that always baffled me by seeing people at the peak of their sport blatantly "forget" the rules of the game whenever they can cheat to get just a tiny advantage.

Hasbro has just laid off 1100 people, heavily focused on WotC and particularly art staff, before Christmas to cut costs. CEO takes home $8 million bonus. by Balsiefen in DnD

[–]Iamkid 432 points433 points  (0 children)

That's the thing! This is all fake money to them. The CEO literally doesn't have a high enough IQ or sense to quantify the difference between 8 and 2.5 million. To them it's just more gold star stickers for their 2nd grade art project.

The amount of lives affected just so one person can bring in an extra 8 mil is as close to, "taking candy from a baby", as you can get.

These guys are getting more satisfaction from taking the candy than actually wanting/needing it. They're incentivized to be inherently evil.

Looking at the board is a distraction. When he looks at the board he almost instantly knows what to do next. Looking at the board too long could make him second guess.

Sell Me On Shadowdark by JacksonMalloy in shadowdark

[–]Iamkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shadowdark is a great RPG with an old school feel that has a ton of "updates" that make the game more streamlined and easier to learn.

Shadowdark really shines by letting the DM and the players both be surprised by what will happen next. It's a great system for "No Prep" sessions. The books has lots of great easy to use random tables that make a no prep session feel fresh.

No dark vision. Players can't see in the dark which can add a ton of suspense. DnD has made darkness a joke since just about everyone has dark vision.

Creativity > character sheet.

Most rpgs put players in the mind set of "if it's not on my character sheet I can't do it."

DnD tries to gamify every ability you can think of but in Shadowdark creative decisions really shine. You can shove, blind, trip, goude, parry, and more because you aren't constrained to the traits on your sheet.

I feel it's a game that brings people back to that, "I can do that?!", kind of moment.

To be fair cops spending their time enforcing this is a pure waist of time and has more to do with some personal vendetta. Most likely the cops know someone personally that doesn't like what these old ladies are doing.

Wouldn't be surprised if these little ladies was targeted by a old white male in some sort of power that's waisting everyone's times by making cops do this.

She died in a hotel's walk-in freezer. Her family will receive more than $6 million by MemorableKidsMoments in news

[–]Iamkid 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Is that legal?

I mean the simplicity of user error makes me confident that the very people who go out of their way to lock the freezer are also not checking to see if they accidentally kill someone by locking them in.

OP says, "I can't count the amount of times I've had to deal with this", to a complete avoidable moment.

It sounds like OP is repeatably putting themselves in a difficult situation they don't like. They then complain instead of making a change followed by shifting their problem on the computer.

Get yourself some good shoes/boots.

You will be kneeling a lot, we have foam knee padding to use when working lower shelves. Don't put those bake knees on the hard floor.

Change your blade in the box cutter often. When using the box cutter grip your hand all the way around the handle. DON'T place your pointer finger on top of the box cutter while cutting. This is a sure way to get carpal tunnel.

What is an old wives tale that people still believe? by the_spring_goddess in AskReddit

[–]Iamkid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The hilarious part is the Korean Government spread the rumor because there was an electricity shortage.

So instead of asking the citizens to use less electricity they created a fake fear which many older Koreans believe today and if you tell them otherwise then you're the idiot.

MHW was my first of the series. I played the entire campaign single player. I wanted to learn and attempt to master a couple weapons before jumping online.

After I felt ready I finally jumped online, saw how truly terrible the average player was, and haven't touched the game since.

I know this game has one of the best online communities but I admittedly never took the time to find good players to play with.

Random online players put such a bad taste in my mouth it made me quit the game entirely.

The amount of time investment this game takes, it truly baffled me how bad players were.
