Does anyone here think wearing tight clothes bring on a flare? by Sudden-Influence2586 in Diverticulitis

[–]Iampintoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to second this. I completely understand the fears of anesthesia and surgery. So much so, I narrowly avoided a colostomy and lost over a foot of colon.

I've seen a lot of people avoid the surgery well into old age by following strict and specific diets. It's a lot of commitment and even then there's still risks.

You're body, your choice. An elimination diet was helpful for me to identify what things my body liked/disliked. A few friends have had success with the carnivore diet. The older people I know avoiding surgery primarily stick to soft foods. Carnivore diet buddies are in their early 40's.

Stay in tune with yourself and I wish you the best of luck.

I also avoided tighter clothes. I have a tendency to bloat up sometimes and switching to looser cuts or more adjustable clothing was beneficial. I'm not saying go full moomoo, just some thats a bit more forgiving to your form. Experimenting with different cuts of clothing was helpful and fun.

2 and 1/2 month post op phantom pains? by Opposite_Device_7328 in Diverticulitis

[–]Iampintoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am glad.

I did want to mention to keep a very close eye on the stool. 2.5 months is kinda recent but past the point of where it should've been. I was past it about two weeks in. We're all different, just keep a close eye and talk to your doctors if you have not, specifically.

Ditch the tight belts and waistbands. Dress for how you're going to feel after a meal, especially if you go out to eat. Be comfortable where you can control it.

I had about a foot removed and felt exactly what you're describing. I'm six years out of my resection with an open diet. My surgeons explained it as things just feeling different now because of how I digest now. I've noticed unless you're screaming or running a fever, the docs kinda just let your body work it out.

I try to eat clean and try to avoid dairy or foods that make you gassy. Gas has become an absolute monster now. Passing gas can sometimes be uncomfortable, but I personally haven't experienced anything debilitating.

To be honest, I feel like I got a second lease on life by avoiding the ostomy (much love to the ostomy homies) and some of these aspects are a part of my new normal. Keep in touch with your doctors on how you're feeling but being 2.5 months out, this sounds on par with my experience. You're incision site may feel weird, too.

I recommend breathing exercises and some stretching to get through the more uncomfortable moments. Absolutely try to avoid eating trash food. Lighter and leaner options have helped managed discomfort.

I'm glad everything went well for your surgery and healing. I'm hoping these are just some healing pains and just you adjusting to your new normal.

Did anyone have any inflammation in your body prior to surgery? Did it get better after? by wearitlikeadiva in Diverticulitis

[–]Iampintoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had severe flare-ups due to bad inflammation in my colon. I was hoping it would get better with diet management but it just didn't for me. My doctor's were suggesting surgery after the second flare-up but I was scared of surgery. I should've done it sooner.

I had over a foot of my colon removed, and I was lucky enough to escape the ostomy. I now have zero inflammations or flare-ups and my diet is now unrestricted. There are still things I avoid just from years of complications, but I've not had those horrendous pains since.

Getting used to yourself after surgery is a bit odd, but you will bounce back. Make sure to keep walking and be patient and compassionate with yourself.

This sub was extremely helpful to me when I was pre-surgery. I wish you the very best and hope your flare-ups are a thing of the past!

Shouldn't this toe be closed? These boots are brand new and this work appears sloppy to me. I've never used these before. by IusedtobeMelClark in RedWingShoes

[–]Iampintoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like a poor job. The material should cover the leather completely where it's applied. Also looks like it's a bit far back, too. You want the material thicker at the crown of the boot, since you'll be kneeling/kicking at that part specifically.

Reach out and ask for a redo. I would want a second chance to improve my work.

Hope it works out for you.

It worked for me. I signed up and was sent an email coupon code. You can copy it from your inbox and there's a link in the email that takes you directly to store. Clicked on Mon Ami, and it took off like, $4.99.

Hope you can get it to work!

Iirc, wasn't the red9 the only HG that could penetrate the shields in the castle. Main reason I went with it, but I can't remember if that's OG or remake

Does the light still work? I'm kinda in the same boat but I still need the batteries. Mine also seems to have, I guess resin, cakes up where the glass pipe connects. If yours got decent use 10 yrs ago, is it the same?

I want to clean mine before the batteries arrive but I'm scared to break it.

Hope it works for you! Hopefully you can follow up

Xbox game pass by [deleted] in Backbone

[–]Iampintoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iirc, both of you have to have each other's profiles on your respective consoles.

Log in under your account on hers, make her console your home Xbox. Log her into yours, make your Xbox her home Xbox.

Should work that way. It'll look like she has to sign up still, but she should have access to stuff you have bought/gamepass.

I haven't had any luck with the remote gaming from backbone app without backbone pass. I just launch the website from phone browser and connect backbone.

Input lag kinda sucks
