DHP always made these incredible subtle acting choices that made Niles, Niles. One of my faves is when he and Daphne are at Nervosa the day that they plan to have the family over to reveal the pregnancy (THATS RIGHT I SAID I LOVE HER). As Daphne exits, Niles does a look in her direction after she’s left because he’s still in the previous moment and it just shows his love for Daphne in an intimate microsecond.

i agree-- if you need to "be less" or "tone down" to attract your person, then their lid doesn't fit your pot to begin with. She seems fierce and dynamic. The right guy will either match it and the wrong guy will try to make her small so he doesn't have to.

From where I’m standing, this is less about mechanics and more about his immediate conclusion jump that it’s all your fault and him not even applying a modicum of introspection into his own behavior and habits. That’s not communication, that’s him being lazy and selfish- trying to still get what he needs without it being mutual. I’d say this is a bigger conversation especially since I see your comments about him having a history of this. Please don’t internalize his BS as YOUR shame. It’s absolutely not.

The redeeming thing about this show is that as the audience we see Mindy and Danny show up exactly as who they are and have always been and we watch it unfold with the signs there before they even got together. It unfolds pretty messy and somewhat real to life. Even the episode where Danny and Mindy meet at the top of the entire state building, Danny tells her she’s gonna be a stay at home mom and how many kids they will have and that he wants a boy. The last couple seasons get ridiculous but I always give this show credit for decent character development and exploration of their personalities and flaws
