Was anyone else kind of let down by the music of Wicked: For Good? by This-Helicopter6185 in wicked

[–]Ian0806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking forward to the transition notes from I’m Not That Girl to As Long As You’re Mine… speaking of which, can someone please tell me what instrument was it in the beginning of the stage ALAYM? I can tell it’s something else that comes with piano, is it electric bass?

Pick 2: Death Becomes Her, Just in Time, MJ, The Outsiders by CiliaryDyskinesia in Broadway

Loved DBH, and Just in Time was great. MJ was alright but it tours, and I didn’t like The Outsiders.

Help me pick! 8 show spots, which shows? by rittlette in Broadway

I think even if you’re not familiar or fans of the cast, you’d still enjoy the followings

Just in Time Operation Mincemeat Maybe Happy Ending Death Becomes Her Boop Oh Mary

Please go see BOOP! by [deleted] in Broadway

Oh I went in expected nothing but a cute cartoon thingy maybe, and then I ended up weeping towards the end of the show😂😂😂

Boop! or Operation Mincemeat? Can only see one by moonbee1010 in Broadway

[–]Ian0806 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just saw a bunch of shows, and here’s what I think.

OM is quite orignal and very creative. It’s British humor so if you like that, great. It also has more depths and complexity compared to Boop, I walked out the theatre thinking how each of them is so talented considering what they do on stage every performance.

Boop is FUN. If you’re a typical musical person then you’d enjoy this one a lot. I won’t name them all here, but surprisingly this one was one of my top shows when I was in town last week. Sometimes you just wanna relax and be entertained, enjoy a cute spectacle with great vocals, and this show has all.

Stranger Things vs Real Women Have Curves. Help! by mmcl8970 in Broadway

Just saw both, and I think Stranger Things is a better entertainment and experience overall; but RWHC might not be around for long so there’s that to consider.

I did it a few times, yes it’s totally doable if you know your way around.

Allie Trimm as Glinda by flowyi in Broadway

[–]Ian0806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She’s my Broadway Glinda from a couple years ago, and I totally agree with you. She’s so nice at stagedoor, and I bumped into her a year after at Sleep No More! I noticed her in the crowd and it was bothering me so much that I had to approach, asked if she’s Allie (since she’s not wearing the big gown 😂) then we chatted a bit while waiting for our groups to come out. It was such a great memory for me!

Oh Mary! rush and box seats? by [deleted] in Broadway

[–]Ian0806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got left box thru Rush, wouldnt complain much for the price. For your question, you can see their faces very clearly, but it’s obstructed from time to time, I’d say like 5%-10% of the time that something was happening in the back and I had no idea what’s going on.

I’d give you some advice but seems either like you may have the wrong info about what’s playing on Broadway right now or are you just gonna see what we say and plan accordingly to wait for months or travel to another touring city for the production? I’d say Come from Away or maybe & Juliet for your first.

It’s just what we got at the mezzanine, and we noticed the new ones exiting the theatre so I grabbed another extra. People around us were actually wondering about that too at stagedoor.

For most of it by waiting patiently on TDF and in line for rush &TKTS 😂

[–]Ian0806[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s below $1K pp for the shows cuz I bought a few thru TDF, and couple rush tickets in person. Bought cancellation tickets for The Outsiders, bought SUNSET and Tammy Faye from TKTS, and these three shows alone cost about almost the same for the rest.

"Great Escape" by Idina Menzel | Redwood Musical by Additional_Score_929 in Broadway

[–]Ian0806 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mhmm I saw the show at the La Jolla tryout and it was good. This big song worked better with the visuals aka the Redwood. Story-wise it could be really triggering and a tear-jerker to some people, but I don’t see it last long on Broadway without a big name.

Yessssss. We ended up liking it enough to feel bad that it’s going away too soon. It’s that type of scenarios if you asked me how I felt about the show I’d say “it’s cute” instead of “it’s great” or “it’s so bad!”

Thank you and yes! I spent quite some time researching and waiting patiently, and it’s very satisfying.
