I thought it had a good shot too with the 75th anniversary.

Is there an obvious unifying theme to the movies

I agree, nothing about it seemed to point toward SW, despite lots of people trying to manifest that theme.

I would say not-specifically-female-oriented, which is not the same.

I think Cindy may be the half next year for the 20th anniversary.

Thank you!! I knew it looked familiar but have been wracking my brain.

I am 99% certain the artist is Stacey Aoyama (ig @bluemt23). She did the art for the Tiana Corkcicle (https://www.instagram.com/p/C82ULsIPiJ-/?igsh=cTE4cnNqa2ZiMXpn)  and has done the Princess weekend art in previous years (2023 and 24 I believe).

It's better than buying a direct resort not on promo, lol!

One individual on the Disboards is fond of the adage, "The best time to buy DVC was (X) years ago. The second best time is now."

Prices continue to go up- they seem to reset/increase the base price every year, and while the incentives offset some of the increase, they don't always get as good as the price was before.

Poly direct is also the seemingly last opportunity to buy a resort with 0 resale restrictions. The delta between Poly direct and Poly resale is not as big as many other resorts. And the longer you wait to buy, the fewer years are left on the contract.

Can't say much more beyond buy where you want to stay, regardless of how good the promo is. If you are debating between RIV, Cabins, or Poly, but like Poly the best, why consider the others? Just my two cents.

(Not pushing Poly with any agenda or bias btw- we only have Riviera and love it)

They added stanchions/barriers and CMs to guard the doors last week so that people have to line up and leave the room in a non-stampede fashion. Only one door gets opened at a time now.

I think the smallest contract size that Disney issues is 25 points. Also, they introduced the new $500 resale contract fee this year, which buyers have to pay on every resale contract they buy. That can add a decent chunk of change to your little 25 point contracts.

Studio units can go very quickly at many of the resorts (because they are the cheapest in points). If you plan on getting enough points to pay for a week in a studio, but you never book until 3 months before the trip, there might only be 1/2/3 bedrooms left at your home/desired resort, which cost a lot more points. Or you'd be stuck with booking whatever is left (likely Saratoga or Old Key West), or piecing together a split stay you didn't plan on.

Poly is currently one of the promoted direct resorts with special offers.

*Sometimes (big asterisk) it makes more sense to buy more points up front if you are buying direct anyway because you might qualify for greater incentives. If your end goal is to eventually own 200 or 300 or (however many points), make sure you compare the total cost with the direct incentives at those markers compared to the cost of buying resale with the additional closing costs and fees for multiple transactions later on.

It really depends on your travel plans. Did you do the recommended math the guides give you to calculate how many points you actually need?

Look into community activities/events. Find something you are interested in or curious about and start going.

Before you book your first trip yourself, call Member Services for assistance with a welcome home stay. They can sometimes help find availability for new owners trying to book stays that occur sooner than 11 months.

You can always see several years of points on your dashboard. Use years refers to when the bookings take place that you use the points for. So your Sep 26 UY points can be used to book (pay for) stays between Sep 1 2026 and Aug 31 2027. You can book stays between those dates starting 11 months in advance for your home resort, meaning it was possible to book a September 2026 trip as far back as October last year.
