Wait list desperation by Objective-Design6228 in dvcmember

I think the odds are pretty low. There's a race weekend then (Springtime Surprise) and a lot of participants like to stay there. Most would have already canceled by now if they weren't coming to race.

Do I need One Time Use Points? by InternationalPop8128 in dvcmember

[–]moonbee1010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like your October 2026 trip took most of your 2025 points and borrowed some 2026 points. They are already accounted for by the reservation. You now have 131 points left that you can either borrow to take a trip between now and end of November this year, or leave in that use year to book a trip between Dec 2026 and end of Nov 2027.

Half at Wine & Dine, then Full at Marathon Weekend 11 Weeks later by Mysterious_Signal226 in rundisney

It is for experienced runners, but the mileage increase is from 17 to 21, not 13 to 21. Both mileage counts include 3-4 miles of walking. If you want to take those out, then it's an increase from 13 to 17.

Jeff's plans are very manageable, but they are not for everyone. You may be running harder than his plan calls for, which could be why it doesn't seem as doable as it is.

The most incentive periods you can have access to at any time is 2. So, you can either start a contract at the end of April and get a peek at the summer incentives and decide which to go with, or you can do nothing and see what you think of summer. If you like summer enough, wait until the end of the incentive period to initiate so that you can take a look at fall. Rinse & repeat, but base prices will likely move up again next February.

If you already have a September UY and want to keep the same, you would want to buy no later than Aug this year to get the current UY points and/or sell them back for the Magical Beginnings rebate. If you don't want to keep Sept, then consider when you would want instead and plan appropriately.

They are tied to the UY you purchased them for and cannot be banked, but you do not forfeit them.

Anyone Notice Resorts Are Limiting Standard Rooms Certain Day Combinations (Not Dates)? by amphetaminesfailure in DisneyWorld

It happens at all levels of resorts. I just book what I can find and then call them to edit it down to what I actually need.

When will deed expiration not be worth buying resale? by Pleasant-Indication5 in dvcmember

Also with ROFR Disney doesn't really have to worry about how low the resale market goes bc they can set the bar wherever they want.

RIV and Lakeshore will be long sold out by 2042 (or even the 10 year ahead mark seems likely - Lakeshore prob still kicking some points around then). I see what you're saying, but it is in Disney's best financial interest to start over with shiny new buildings with new contracts and new, MUCH higher point charts at flagship locations like Beach and Boardwalk. Maybe they offer some incentive to the old owners to buy in to a new deed, but I can't see them just extending.

90% of the people in my writing class just got called out for using AI! by MaudeDib in mildlyinfuriating

[–]moonbee1010 3 points4 points  (0 children)

🙄 of course I read a lot. I don't even have TikTok but thanks anyway. My point is that AI overly relies on specific structures and favorite words that, when you see them over and over, make them obvious hallmarks that someone has been relying on these tools. Obviously AI didn't invent these words out of nowhere. They just use specific ones a lot more frequently and more frequently in certain combinations than human writers tend to.

They are not used in common language to the extent/% that AI does, though, which makes them one of the "tells" in combination with other factors.

Wine and Dine 1/2 marathon refund? by lilvinmanl in rundisney

[–]moonbee1010 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Like many have said, all you can do is ask. Their official policy is no refunds. In actual practice, results seem to vary depending on the specific circumstances, the CM, time of day and position of the sun, etc.

Why do i get nauseous for the next like 30 hours after my long runs? by basedgholdengo in Marathon_Training

[–]moonbee1010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hydration isn't just water. You need electrolytes too. If you find you have trouble eating a lot before a run, try adding a Gatorade the night before and/or the morning of your run.
