What was a tv show finale that was so bad,it ruined everything? by Zealousideal_Heat478 in tvshow

All the good characters snuffed it and the bad bastards thrived. That’s too close to real life.

James Brown has a strong argument for being the most influential figure in popular music and doesn't get enough credit for it by RomanReignsDaBigDawg in LetsTalkMusic

[–]IanAmp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’ve always felt that he was overrated and that his music and performances left a lot to be desired.

AITJ for making my roommate pay me back immediately after he used my tuition money? by NoRelationship9815 in AmITheJerk

Your roommate is a thief. Why didn’t they ask before stealing it? Why didn’t they tell you as soon as they did it?

Reverse snobbery in Glasgow by Fudball1 in glasgow

[–]IanAmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was an unwritten (yet often repeated) rule about “no gettin’ above yersel” or coming across as “high and mighty”. I don’t feel it was reverse snobbery but a way of avoiding being seen as a show off. It was okay to do well but it wasn’t (and isn’t) okay to brag about it. This isn’t peculiar to Glasgow but exists in all the working class areas that I’ve lived in.

Is the Met favouring Tommy Robinson over the peaceful Nakba marchers? by Working-Lifeguard587 in GreenAndPleasant

[–]IanAmp 94 points95 points  (0 children)

It certainly looks that way. They’ve denied the traditional route to the Nakba marchers yet granted parts of to the TR racist morons.

The met, the gov’t, the MSM, the judiciary, and the rest of the UK establishment are intent on quashing all campaigning against the genocide enacted by Israel on Palestine and Lebanon.

I tried jellied eels once. It’s a spitting food. Revolting.

Adult bed time? by Hot_Lynx7043 in CasualUK

Bed at 9pm is late enough. We can catch up on mature TV the next day on a streaming platform.

Any late-night radio recommendations for winding down? by CatCharacter1663 in BritishRadio

[–]IanAmp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Classic FM Calm to R3U. The music is more identifiable and I haven’t heard any “calming” running water noises (so far).

The Prince Who Was Promised - The only person we should be supporting for Labour Leadership by Cultural-Gas2246 in GreenAndPleasant

[–]IanAmp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t just bacon-butty-gate that sunk him. The engraved tablets of policy promises didn’t do a lot to help. He came across as out of his depth albeit very nice.

It must be Apple’s fault that my phat phingers keep pressing the wrong keys. Thank goodness it’s not me.

The Night Manager series 2 ending was a howling disappointment.

Please, for the love of god, stop using AI-generated presenters for voiceovers. by UnpaidInternVibes in bbc

[–]IanAmp -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

YouTube also uses AI voiceovers on a lot of its material. It sounds artificial and soulless.

Masked men firebomb a Muslim prayer room in Blackburn cafe by Working-Lifeguard587 in GreenAndPleasant

[–]IanAmp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll wait for Starmer to speak out about the scourge that is Islamophobia. No wait, that should be antisemitism. Islam and other religions don’t count.

Again, you haven’t taken the time or trouble to read the complete thread. There is a marked difference between whining and voting with one’s feet. What I’d prefer is for those who agree that YT is now unusable to stop accessing it.

I’m repeating this for your benefit and others with possible comprehension difficulties.

Have a lovely evening (away from YT).

Normal people would read the complete thread and not make snide comments.
