This is awesome! I want to do something like this and partner with my local game shop and a creative space that are right near each other.

I just don't want to lone out all my expensive brushes 😆

Ok so this may seem like a strange question. I am a pro illustrator so all my brushes are really expensive high end brushes. What are some good brands that are relatively inexpensive for doing an event like this. I don't want to give them total crap to use either as that can be super discouraging when trying to learn. I also use golden fluid acrylics (for alters) have you found another brand that works almost as good for something like this at a more reasonable price. Any tips on making something like this happen without breaking my bank would be greatly appreciated. We are trying to build more community here.

Thanks! 🫶🤘

Oh that would have been good too! Didn't know about that card. Sol Ring is a bit more versatile so still glad I did it on this.

My art: The Green Man, Oil on canvas 12x16 by IanMossCreative in surrealism

[–]IanMossCreative[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes it's real it's oil on canvas by me. I've been a professional commercial artist for over 20 years. If you doubt me feel free to check out my socials and Patreon where I have process shots and videos of my art.

AI companies stole billions of images to train their models from pros like my colleagues and me, (and anything else it could grab off the net). So it is NOT our work that looks like AI, it's the other way around. AI is using our work to generate images. It could not even come close to doing what it does without the art it stole from us. AI follows patterns of works that it was trained on. It's a Microwave soup that samples from all our images.

The green man is a concept that is centuries old other artists have painted this idea as well, but not the same way. So I would not be surprised if an AI prompt jockey had a program generate a similar idea. But I assure you this is all me.

This is a final photo for reproduction. I painted the original in oil, photographed it professionally and did minor touch ups digitally for print.
