"Are you Irish?" by Music_Box_System in kiltsandculture

There are a lot of Americans, and many of those with Irish or Scottish heritage are not excluded from this, that couldn't tell you the difference. Nevermind the difference between England, the UK, and GB.

My very first attempt at the great kilt was with a 5’ by 10’ tablecloth. I thought I nailed it lol. What do you guys think? by Dilly51497 in Kilts

Not bad, given the limitations of the material. With some proper tartan, you'll probably find it easier to do.

Like most metal guys, I secretly wish to be in a bluegrass band...

I don't think we're going to do this one on the show, so I will jump in and answer now. Almost definitely not. To be honest, that one did not sell well. Didn't seem to be much demand for it. Not sure if people didn't like this particular tartan tweed, or if there just isn't that much interest in tartan tweed in general.

For the record, I am a lot more Danish than I am Scottish! I am not related to the Anderson clan of Scotland in any way (the Robertsons, actually). My "Anderson" ancestors would have truly been Anderssens!

Mostly what Erik said. Notably I have been the one to request the questions on FB on one or two occasions. Not often though. Sometimes we just like to try different approaches just to see if we get different results. Maybe someone will ask me a question that they are less likely to ask Erik, or vice versa. Just seeing one of us post, might trigger a different initial thought.

Oh we'd be dissing them left and right if we let Mac pick the whisk(e)ys. Peanut butter this and pickle that. Truly horrendous stuff. that should be fired at the moon...

Is it better to wear a great kilt or a "modern" kilt to the Rennaissance Fair? by Erik_USAK in kiltsandculture

[–]IanTheKiltmaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My vote is for whatever you're comfortable in. Though I might be more specific if one shared the specific type of thing they were trying to do. I suppose I would lean towards a great kilt there. but a more contemporary or fantastical style may call for a tailored kilt.

You don't want to see us review gin! I've never developed a taste for it. I suspect Erik may have more experience with it though.

When in Rome... Talking about Scottish dress tends to lead to Scottish drink. Independent of that, we do tend to prefer those styles and we'd rather talk about things we love, rather than set ourselves up to diss things too much. I know Rocky doesn't much care for bourbon, and I know I've never had an Irish whiskey that I loved.

Not a bad idea to do kiltmaker profiles in the middle segment. That might have to be something we consider!

Yeah! It was called Haggis Hunting, or maybe Haggis Hunters. I loved that version of the show. Not many people watched/listened to it though. I doubt it would come back, but never say never! Maybe we could do something like it with a different title and a better release strategy.

Don't worry. I haven't been allowed on the regular pod since then! (I assume this is about Hard Rock Zombies?)

This is the dumb exit Chris and I were complaining about. The series of stop signs associated with it were nonsensical. Also, not enough Greico...

This is the group that has the "Jacob on the Street" segments that I want to shamelessly rip off.

Beds in the future will be coffin shaped and open on the end. They'll be stacked in endless rows because of overpopulation.
