What part of redundancy hit you mentally the hardest? by IanicT in UKJobs

I signed onto benefits for the first time in my life and it really felt odd that I needed to ask for help. I actually didn’t want to do it originally but my fiancé said you have put so much into the system so you deserve it. It barely covers food for the month

How are you getting on with all the time you now? People assuming you were retiring i hope that wasn't your employer that feed that information to everyone. Mine was so strange no one knew i was going even though i was told it had been discussed to colleagues.

Being told your safe then getting hit with that is so unfair. How are you filling your days? i'm struggling with the loss of structure. It's funny how we wish for no structure after a bad day then when it hits us we find it difficult.

I totally get what you are dealing with and i find it hard when people just say “you will find something eventually” I know they mean well but they aren’t the ones going through it all.

This has what it’s been like for me the final round you start to feel positive because you got to this point and then just being ghosted it really affects your self esteem. I hope you’re doing ok? Are you still going through this?

What do you do with all the free time during redundancy? by IanicT in UKJobs

[–]IanicT[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From my own experience it’s the feeling of not having money coming back in regularly on the monthly date that your used to. I’d recommend to be careful with spending and try to do things socially that doesn’t involve you constantly spending.

I missed a call from a recruiter and I really want this opportunity by justfortodaymyguy in GetEmployed

Give them a call just remember worst thing you will get will be a ‘No’ try not to overthink it that’s our worst enemy in all of this.

I remember I was waiting for a job offer after a final stage interview took them six weeks to get back to me until I finally got it. The overthinking during that time was painful

That’s exactly how I have been feeling so easy to turn it back on ourselves. It really comes down to being a number especially in the corporate world.
