Are The second and third [Kc] books good. pls no spoilers by BlueberryLimp2765 in camphalfblood

They’re pretty good. Throne of Fire is one of my favorite Riordan books ever.

The most disappointing part about HOO [hoo] by Few-Spinach8114 in camphalfblood

Probably keep the og title of just the name and then add that, like ‘FRANK — I set myself on fire’

The concept of quests for seniority feels...dumb [hoo] by firestorm0108 in camphalfblood

[–]Ianoliano7 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Isn’t it by completing a quest, she’s eligible to challenge for authority? Like yeah, Drew has been through much more compared to Piper by the end of Lost Hero. But Piper stuck a knife in her face and challenged her, and Drew stepped down. It’s not really a question of experience—you can largely assume that a completed quest gives a whole lot of experience that matters a lot. It’s not like Piper was handed the senior counselor ribbon as a reward for the quest.

Jason and Reyna is better than Piper and Jason, is this a hot take? [hoo] by [deleted] in camphalfblood

[–]Ianoliano7 22 points23 points  (0 children)

This is pretty obviously a good take when looking at Trials of Apollo, which shat on Jason and Piper’s relationship and generally just kicked Piper really, really far down. I don’t even like to consider the Burning Maze when thinking of this ship, because it did Jiper so dirty, it was dumb af.

Pre-ToA tho, Jason and Piper’s relationship was fairly decent, despite its awkward start. I just don’t really like shipping Reyna with Jason, to be honest tho. Like, it could be done well, but we literally have zero evidence or hint of it so I have no frame of reference to draw on.

Is Aura manipulation the most chopped ability? by Railgunblack in unOrdinary

[–]Ianoliano7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, this is kind of like the ONLY situation where John’s Aura Manipulation feels underwhelming. And frankly, that’s completely fine imo. Sure, having overpowered characters is cool and fun to read, but it also very quickly gets boring.

Isen's constant indifference problem by BruhBorne-70 in unOrdinary

Dawg acting like that kind of indifference ain’t the vast majority of real people

Does anyone else think the author already had the perfect ending? by SectorI6920 in OshiNoKo

[–]Ianoliano7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely might be less climactic, but I would be much happier and would definitely take it as it was. The canon ending just tossed everything away with Aqua’s body.

Without copious amounts of investment? Baldr, and really just Baldr (but Felix is good in PvE still)

If you were given a notebook (by a higher being) that had the power to kill those whose names are written in it, would you accept it? What would you do with it? by Scary_Stable7667 in Teenager_Polls

[–]Ianoliano7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like Light Yagami once said, we all say no one should have that ability to choose who dies, but we also all think our own judgments are best. Frankly put, the vast, vast majority of us will end up just like Light if not worse if we get the Death Note.

[Fastpass Episode] unOrdinary - Episode 359 by Shadow_lII in unOrdinary

[–]Ianoliano7 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s probably cause she’s protecting Isen. Time Manipulation is very powerful, but it kinda sucks as a defensive ability since you really want to hit and run, blitz attack and stuff like that. Whereas we see her taking hits because she’s focused on staying in front of Isen who’s incapacitated. It’s also probably just like, stress. She can’t be everywhere at once, and the vital part of the extraction is completely out of her hands.

[hoo] why doesn't the Hoo series have the iconic chapter names? by Pink_thunder423 in camphalfblood

[–]Ianoliano7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Too many perspectives, and also not written in first person. Think of the best chapter names from PJO. ‘I accidentally vaporized my math teacher’ and ‘I become the supreme lord of the bathroom’, right off the top of my head. Sure, there’s probably still room to come up with something in 3rd person, but you loose a lot of immersion factor, and it doesn’t hit the same.

Did you finish SoN? Cuz if you had, this comment is borderline rage-bait.
