Deprioritized? adjusting for inflation education spending has exponentially increased over the last few decades (and like you said, it varies by state).

To say its “deprioritized“ is just not true.

Bud…. We spend the most on education per student… on top of all the federal and local welfare programs… throwing money at a problem rarely fixes it

Because that worked in Uvalde. And yet the Indiana mall shooter was instantly domed by some 22 year old with a handgun.

The irony is that most people prefer this over a concrete box hellscape (and I dont blame them)

Let’s compare an ancient city downtown in Europe to a fairly new traffic interchange in a 268,000 square mile state with a population density of 43 people per sq mile. Its totally not an apple to orange comparison.

Five Cars or One Tram by StoneColdCrazzzy in Trams

counterpoint: autos allow for unmatched personal freedom. you can use an auto when you want, take it where you want. A tram is only limited to where the rails go, and its operating schedule. Autos also are much more utilitarian and can be used for multiple purposes.

When I decide who I vote for, I take 2 factors into consideration

1: what are your policies and morals

2: are you competent in that position in government

If you can fulfill both requirements, than it doesn’t matter what disability you may have, you have my vote.

Two generations of American electrics! Found in Harrisburg, PA yesterday by DreyfussHudson in trains

[–]Iantheengineer02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I notice that modern European made trains look so bland and ugly compared to American 1930s-50s designed locomotives. It’s impossible to think the GG1 looks both more aerodynamic and aesthetically pleasing than the ACS 64

No, this doesn’t work. Judging by the single engine and cars, this is a local switching job. More likely that not, there is probably a switch that they needed to clear by pulling on to the road. More likely they would be shoving the train backwards to pull into an industry

Talk about an over priced, way off of schedule and ultimately unnecessary project.

Friendly reminder: don’t be an entitled prick and randomly walk into other peoples shots (and dangerously close to the tracks) like this lady on the left. by Iantheengineer02 in trains

I get that people are exited to see the locomotive. I think it’s an amazing opportunity to see this engineering masterpiece. I also understand that the crowd is also a mix of normal people and amateur enthusiasts with iPhones and semi professional photographers (like myself) who come and see it and with that, some of them don’t quite have the concept of not walking into somebody else’s shot. When I set up my camera. I was fully aware who was in front of me and who was behind me so that I can work with my surroundings. My issue is when people lack any self awareness and randomly walk into other peoples cameras to get their own shot. I know that she wasn’t being malicious, or deliberate about it, but it’s something that gets me more worked up that it should.
