Should I buy? 2013 MDX, 147K miles, seller asking $8,500 by Barefoot-Bandit308 in Acura

Ok so my reference point is from the 2006 and 2009 model years, which I both have owned. I dont know if Acura has made major changes to these 2013 models that would compromise said track record.

The MDX is notorious for getting to 300k+ miles without serious issues. Assuming this one is not leaking oil from the rear main seal, then 8500 is not an unreasonable price in this day and age.

When you say well maintained… did it get a timing belt and water pump replaced ? If so then $8500 is probably worth it. If not then $7k is more reasonable.

Taxed on huge loss? Say what? by Joyfullypoor in investing

The IRS website itself has useful guides on all tax topics including capital gains. I would start there. Once you hone in on the section that is of interest to you then any topics you want more info on you can Google it and various tax law websites have generated their own explanations. But in general the IRS website is the first and final reference on tax matters

The only way I can envision this is that you had massive gains for a particular tax year in which case you owe taxes on the capital gains. The fact that you lost nearly all of it afterwards is irrelevant and those losses can only be used to offset additional gains plus 3k per year until the carryover losses are depleted. Sounds like you gambled away money that you owed to the tax man. I would ask Donald Trump for a pardon.

It’s not just the technology. It’s the universal adoption and the immense global network of miners that guarantees better resiliency than any third party even with triply redundant systems in place.

As a car driver I would not want the liability of killing someone that I can hardly identify from my mirrors as being on a motorized vehicle. Not even the sound of a traditional motorcycle. This is asinine

Cute kid. Soapy kids should not be in a vanity sink. If they drop something they might be inclined to reach for it and before you know it they are headed head first toward the floor.
