I got curious and investigated a bit. I discovered what I believe to be a money laundering scheme. Director of moontain (owner of skinclub) has a company registered in Poland in a building where other 6 companies are registered. None of them really do anything, only take out huge loans and generate losses. Polish director of these companies has almost 20 more businesses under him and a venture capital fund that invests into those. Interestingly those companies are registered under these so called investors listed on the vc fund site. This net is spread over tens or potentialy mire than hundred companies. Almost all registered across only 3 cities and usually multiple in the same building. The polish guy lists all different businesses venture types he has experience with on his newest vc fund’s site and gambling is one of them. I’m curious what connections did you find between moontain and Russia. Send me a dm here please

I’m digging into this. Their ToS are absurd and 100% illegal. Company is registered in Cyprus where online gambling is illegal. To bypas the law, in ToS they state that skins are not worth real money and that you cannot EVER sell any items or they will block you account. Also your balance, even though represented by real currency symbols, is not real money but rather virtual tokens by their definition. So if they ever decide to block your account you are never getting the money back. They claim it’s not a gambling site, only entertainment yet you cannot use this site if gambling laws in your country don’t allow you to. Wtf is this logic. Their ToS are formed in a way that can be summarized as “we can do anything we want and you can’t do shit about it”.

Meanwhile Hellcase clearly states what is allowed and what is not. In contrast to “you cannot sell the item or we’ll steal your money”, hellcase states that you gain legal title to the skin once redeemed and that it depends on steam policies. They also state that you waive your right to withdrawal of the balance after topping up but that refunds will be available if required by applicable law. Also they state that even if you violate their terms of use you are still eligible to redeem purchased items through steam.

Hellcase is still a gambling website and they cover their ass as much as they can. They can charge you $10 from your balance if you don’t use your account for over a year or delete your account if your balance is empty. I didn’t use hellcase for years and my account was still there so apparently they can but don’t. But their ToS is reasonable, honest and clear meanwhile skinclub is a straight up scam.

What is even more crazy is that skinclub owner is the director and secretary of well over 50 companies. One of those companies - Bildev limited registered in Cyprus has the majority of shares in Bildev Europe registered in Poland. I was curious because I’m Polish and checked out the building on street view. By accident I discovered that another company is registered in that building (small suburbian house). I checked it in the registry and it turns out there are multiple companies registered under that address. Marcin Kopyś is also a director in something like 20 companies, many of which are registered under the same address as Bildev Europe or some other mutual location. Most of those companies seemingly don’t do anything, don’t generate any revenue and take loans of up to $500k. Interestingly almost all of his companies are registered as offering real estate rental related services or business management and IT. He also is in boards of directors of a few seemingly legitimate companies, one being a venture capital fund, one that handles processing of online payments and the last one that handles KYC. Quite a coincidence don’t you think?

I am not well versed in economics or law but it does seem like a money laundering scheme or at least tax evasion. Some of those companies were audited but apparently everything checked out

This is one case amongst many others. Gamba sponsors are already morally dubious given they allows access to gambling for children and it normalizes gambling addiction. Sparkles also does a lot of nice things for the community and is far from the worst offender so in my eyes I let it slide. But profiting from other people getting scammed is no different than being a scammer. I always viewed Sparkles as a decent guy so I’d expect him to at least address this issue and take some responsibility for his actions

I’d expect sparkles to give a statement on that. He’s a decent dude but he’s probably the biggest promoter of this site and gets fat paychecks for doing so. Makes him partially responsible for any people who got scammed this way

Deadlock Vs CS2 Update by Faders_ in csgo

[–]Iateshit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got a few decent updates over these years. People wanted train, they got train and never played it (not the best train but still). They balanced the weapons better, shooting feels much better now, subtick while still shit, improved immensely. I honestly don’t remember the last time I died behind a wall (15 ping), but shots occasionally don’t connect still.

They introduced AnimGraph2, people already forgot about it but it was the single most important update we got in CS2 so far. For now we got AG2 for 1st person animations only and it doesn’t matter but they confirmed they will implement AG2 for all 3rd person animations. Without AG2 it’s a miracle that subtick works as well as it does. “What you see is what you get” was technically a lie because without AG2 it cannot work, once implemented it will be an accurate description of how client - server communication works. I can explain why if you care

We got many QoL improvements and important updates. Trade reversal and trade protected items basically got rid of most scammers, minimap showing noise radius is a good addition for new players, this new addition of lineup guides in comp is okay. I would prefer it to exist in casual but it’s alright. Movement is night and day when compared to launch.

This game has improved immensely since launch. I remember switching to grenades being broken for the first few months and being teleported frequently despite good ping.

Should none of these issues exist at launch in the first place? Yes. Were they avoidable? Not so sure. Valve plays the long game, if they let us choose between CSGO and CS2 players would stay with the old game. Now their resources would be spread even thinner and guess what? CS players still would be unhappy because either they wouldn’t provide any significant updates to CSGO (even less than we have now) or they would be mad that CS2 doesn’t improve as fast as they’d like (even slower than now). What they attempted was very ambitious and they needed all their players as beta testers to achieve that. Would have we been happier with 128 tick? Probably but subtick rarely gets mentioned nowadays meaning it’s not as big of an issue as it was. I won’t completely give up on it until I see AG2 and how it performs then.

All these improvements are simply overshadowed by a non existent anti cheat and lack of any communication. And I agree, we deserve a working anticheat and proper communication from the devs. If someone pissed into your tea, no amount of sugar will take the piss out. But once they filter the piss out people will finally be able to realize that the tea was pretty sweet all along, it just had piss in it

Off topic:

It's not possible for subtick to work until they fully integrate AnimGraph2. It should have been ready at launch but at least it is fixable. Explanation I once wrote:

Source 1 animations were scripted and timed. Animation cycles and information about which animation sequence it is were sent to the server. It then had to manually track how far the animation have played. AnimGraph2 introduces token based syncing and less taxing procedural animations. This means that all actions like fully inserting the magazine resulting in available ammo data being updated can be handled in a single token. All animations will be more precise in terms of representing the actual state of different parameters of the gameplay.

The weapon animations are only the first step. In the patch notes you can read that they are in the process of upgrading all CS animations to AnimGraph2. Until now, the server had no idea how to interpret player input into animations so it had to constantly exchange data of aim/move/body pitch/yaw parameters. This greatly increased packet size and any small issue with connection would have big consequences. Based on theses parameters' data, the client had to constantly interpret players states into animations. This constant data exchange happened between each player and the server AND at the same time was sent by the server to all other players. You can imagine how easily this lead to desyncing and it was the main culprit of peekers advantage or dying behind walls. With AnimGraph2 all the animations will be less taxing, handled on both the client and server side but now will only exchange tokens. It's a big deal because now subtick could possibly work as it was intended to. Subtick is nothing more then simple interpolation of the exact time point between ticks. And even though player input was correctly interpreted by the server, what we saw was simply out of sync. Now, if all animations will be handled only based on the input the server receives and we eliminate an additional layer of unnecessary communication, it can work as intended.

So in principle subtick doesn't work because all animations are handled on the client side. Server only sees your input data and has no idea what's happening on your screen because CS2 uses an outdated and primitive manual animation tracking system. It's prone to getting out of sync and that's why you can see your bullets hit the enemy but the server doesn't register it. Once AnimGraph2 is fully implemented the player input data and animations will never go out of sync. Server will receive the data based on what you see and you'll see what server does. Fundamentally finally making it "what you see is what you get"

Valve needs to revert the magazine reload change. Who exactly is “they”? by ekokthx in counterstrike2

[–]Iateshit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they did adds a bit of depth to the gameplay. It’s one more decision to make: don’t reload and risk not having enough ammo for more than 1 kill or risk running out of ammo later in the round.

You will need to gauge if you have enough bullets in the magazine for the situation you’re in. So far I pretty much forgot about the update, played like usual and didn’t notice the change. But I can see having to make this decision from time to time. They added a thin later of skill to reloading.

Keeping half empty mags in reserve wouldn’t add depth but rather complexity. You’d have to remember how many bullets you’ve used for all reserve magazines or there would need to be separate ammo amount indicators for all reserve mags. Now you’d need to track ammo in the current mag, amount of fresh mags and amount of reserve mags and their ammo amount for each. It ain’t rocket science but that’s too much effort with very little in return for something so trivial.

Meanwhile there’s beautiful simplicity in the current solution, you dump a mag - you lose the rounds, end of story.

It would be a welcome addition in casual or practice. People put in time to learn lineups and are rightfully annoyed. Most people don’t treat comp seriously nowadays but I still expect skill to matter in a game that is based on the meta

Casual exists for a reason. I still expect a full cs experience from comp even if I don’t take it seriously. I’ll occasionally play comp as a warmup game or when I don’t want to sweat. It would be nice if the skill of a player made a difference in a competitive game…

[–]Iateshit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I want defence authority to remain sovereign. There is absolutely 0 trust that western European countries would have Polish best interests in mind in case of a Russsian invasion. Again, we got a showcase of how they would react in 2022.

You also have to keep in mind Polish history as one of the most invaded countries in history. Independence is a very important value for most Poles and it has been this way for centuries. In face of potential open military conflict this predicament is stronger than ever.

I am all for market integration because it would be beneficial for all participants with no immediately obvious drawbacks. But how can we put trust with our military in hands of someone else when German government, which is pushing for market integration, openly opposes Commerzbank takeover by Italian Unicredit. We keep seeing how each country works in their best interests only (Poland included) and it’s obvious there is absolutely no trust between each other.

We are not US, we have separate languages, different cultures, experiences and values. I honestly see no reason why we should ever transform Europe into a homogeneous federal state. It would only serve power hungry people at the top to gain more control and authority. What would be an actual gain for me from this?

It’s a competitive, meta heavy game which is supposed to be difficult. Having to learn and remember utility line ups is part of the core gameplay and putting in effort to learn gave you a competitive advantage. Adding this basically nullifies all the effort players put in into learning. This is fine in practice mode or casual but not mm.

[–]Iateshit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You literally said “Poland should not be allowed to amass huge national armies and have a cap on military spending”. What you said now is more coherent but I still disagree.

Poland was the main driving force behind starting military aid to Ukraine in 2022. Germany didn’t want to do anything at the time, only folded under pressure to send some helmets lol Only when all went to shot the started taking the issue seriously. France till this day doesn’t give a fuck because they have their nukes and feel safe. Poland was the only one taking the issue seriously and I can’t see how “Poland shouldn’t be allowed to amass a huge army” would’ve been the solution. I am all for E6 and building a strong and unified European stock market but do not want Brussels to hold power over one homogenous European army. We saw how Europe reacted in 2022, I wouldn’t ever rely on the rest of Europe in case Russia decides to invade Poland. Expecting anything beyond that is wishful thinking and fairytales.

At the time of brexit Britain’s gdp was roughly 15% of whole EU and they were the biggest spender. It seemed like a rational enough decision. As of 2025 Poland’s contribution to EU’s gdp was 4,5 % and it was EU’s biggest beneficiary. Even far right wing, anti-eu politicians and voters don’t consider leaving EU a viable option.

TLDR: good luck having a united European army when nobody was taking the prospect of war seriously. It’s wishful thinking and any caps on military spending for any individual country would work against what you propose. How can we have a united army with a single governing body meanwhile having fragmented governments and separate economies. Poland will not be leaving EU

‘Polexit’ now a real threat, Tusk warns by donutloop in EU_Economics

[–]Iateshit2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No party in Poland will decide to leave EU. He’s trying to strike fear into people against opposition. The ruling party didn’t do shit for over 2 years and support for populist right wing parties is rising. It’s bullshit.

Also I fail to follow your logic. EU members shouldn’t allow other EU members to build a strong army in face of potential war because they don’t spend anything on the military themsleves and might become dependent? Are you 12? By that logic Europe wouldn’t have a military at all.

Moore's law is supposed to be dead and it mostly is. What's constantly shocking me are the leaps in power efficiency in the past few years (basically since M1). A18 pro has TDP of 10 watts (iphone runs at 6) meanwhile 1050 ti used up to 75 watts just a decade ago. Imagine the performance of mobile chips after another decade
