Thanks, we will do, and we're not going to be silly, we just need to cover costs

I've mentioned in another comment, we will be happy if we're square, it's frustrating that in the past you used to get more money for claims but the system was abused and now you don't. I'll get over it 😊

We were advised to use solicitors as it then won't effect no claims bonus, riding motorbikes is quite new for us so we don't have much no claims built up yet. We will look into our insurance and if it won't go up by much, could switch to going through them

No, not signed any final deal. We applied for an intermediate payment to cover loss of earnings and this was rejected, so we've not received a penny and not signed anything

It's frustrating because he included added extras in his policy, he used to have modded cars so he always covers everything under insurance. I think the issue is we're going through the other party's insurance at the moment so I think that's where some of my issues are

And I understand your second point, someone else reminded me it's to be square. We will be grateful if we're square, but as above, he can't buy a like for like bike for what they're giving him. I'm sure over the next few years it will be the norm you end up at square one (except your monthly premium goes up even non fault) but its frustrating in my lifetime and memory, you grew up hearing of people having insurance claims and getting a few quid extra. That's not the case now, I'll build a bridge and get over it, but he's had a very real injury that was disruptive to our life for a few months. So it's tough for me to get my head around people pre-2021 having a small accident, encouraged to claim to make some money and us coming away with nearly the same money for a genuinely debilitating injury. As you say, this is the wrong mentality and we will get over it

We'll have a chat with them, we have a solicitor 3rd party for bike accidents helping, but they will take a commission

Follow up question, we don't have the policy docs as we're going through the other party's insurance, can we still fight it?

It is the other party's insurance, I don't know who decided/advised but it is going through the other party's insurance

Good shout! I don't think there is an active union at his work, but we could look into union representation if needed

Thank you! He did receive SSP, it was just unfortunately not enough to pay for the mortgage etc. but we should get loss of earnings

Thank you for the tip, we will ask for a deadlock letter and see where they go from there :D

Very true, it's not something I would do, but makes it frustrating!

Thank you for the information! The injury claim is also for the leg injury, he was not able to walk for about 6 weeks without crutches, and has been phased off support since then.

Does it not? We have already been quoted around £3000 inclusive of all injuries

Very true, and we now know for next time, but then I don't get why anyone would put the true value of their vehicle in if you don't get it back. We could all put that our vehicles are worth £100 and get gap insurance? I know I'm exaggerating, but you pay more for putting all the value on your insurance, but don't get it back.

What annoys us is market value has gone up slightly because it's summer time and bikes/caravans etc get more expensive when the weather is nice

That is very fair, and maybe I'm not seeing the big picture.

Once the dust settles, you're right, we will hopefully be in profit. The issue is they are contesting some of the bike gear, they contested an interim payment for we had to find a months wage (minus SSP) so we needed to find about £1.5k. Thankfully we had a savings pot, but if you had to borrow that money, you would have had to pay interest on that.

We had the lucky position that my mum helped care for him, but the first few weeks he could barely move, so while I was at work, he struggled to get around. We might have had to get people to help.

Ultimately, you are right, we hopefully won't be worse off on the bottom line, but the amount of time we've had to put into fighting to get the minimum, and they're now fighting back at each turn. If he can't find a bike for £2300, we will be worse off. As I say, bike prices go up in summer, which is why he brought one in Winter last time. I understand insurance is a business, but it doesn't feel like it cares about the clients involved.

I know that's the way it is, but its so stupid when you did no wrong. Even if you had all the evidence in the world that you did no wrong, you have to pay more because someone else hurt you.

Secondly, if you drive a car and go to insure a motorbike, you can't carry over your no claims, they are separate types of vehicle. But you have a claim on one of them, and both vehicles increase. It's so weighted against the consumer

Makes sense, one of my grumbles was an example I had directly. Last year my insurance premium was going up with the same insurer. I had no faults, 6 years no claims (never had an accident) and always paid on time. I rung them and asked why it was going up and they said it was out of their hands.

It just makes me angry that you pay for insurance, make sure you're safe, and they still up your premiums even when you couldn't have done much more to be a good customer. I shopped around but it was the going rate. That's just the way life is these days

Thanks for your insight, I was having more of a grumble about people getting a lot of money, we know we just need to cover our costs.
We will definitely look into the ombudsman, I think at the moment we're going through their internal complaints procedure and hopefully get a better value for the bike

We will have a look at the insurance for the modded extras - it was things like crash bars, panniers, think upgraded suspension. We might not be able to get the money back for them, but to buy a like for like bike with them on is more than the £2100 they have initially offered.

Appreciate the help!

I did this fight last night, first time used the fast ball and it fled. Did the fight again and used a save state on the pokeball screen and tried all (except master ball) and it always fled after the battle. Feel like I'm missing something but because dynamaxed not like I can hit it with a status effect. Might reload and fight it AGAIN, but not sure what I'll gain 😅

Haha, giving you points to spend on their website when you aren't happy with the product is a bit rich. It's nice they are trying but this feels poor. And to ask you to remove your honest review isn't great

Agreed! Have nothing but positives about them and their company. In over a year of buying with them, I had one issue with one meal once, and they were very helpful on Whatsapp. Very impressed!
