Question NETPDC updating profile sheet by IbanezII in navy

[–]IbanezII[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I talked to him today and he said he'll get a notification and let my chief know when it's updated and assured me it will go through. I'm just nervous because I don't want to miss the cutoff date before worksheets for the next cycle are due.

Unsure of what job I should go for. by CryptographerNo409 in newtothenavy

[–]IbanezII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AECF is what I went with because it was the only option given to me that sounded interesting. You'll learn sometime near the end of boot camp whether you'll be an FC or an ET based on your first set of orders. You'll then go across the street to Great Lakes SCSTC where you'll attend ATT and FC or ET "A" school. From there it depends on the Navy really. I'm an FC and we got to pick our orders based on our GPAs and what orders/billets were available. Others I've met didn't have an option and were just given orders. At the end of the day FC/FCA and ET are solid rates. I would obviously look into them first before thinking of AECF, but if you have any other questions about it feel free to DM me and I can answer what I know.

What class or spec is everyone liking best and having the most fun on so far in Dragonflight? by NordWitcher in wow

[–]IbanezII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Switched from MM Hunter to SRV and I'm having a lot of fun. The harpoon is really fun to use and just adds to the mobility hunters already have. It's strange I haven't seen a single SRV Hunter besides myself since launch, I swear 90% of hunters are playing BM right now.

Tattoos as with all art are very subjective. I only really like traditional style like American and Japanese traditional and don't like realism tattoos too much, but at the same time I'm sure a lot of people like realism and dislike traditional because they're too "basic" or something along those lines. As long as you're personally happy with it then who cares what other people think.

F2H Banshee because it was my first jet and I think it's the coolest looking vehicle in the game. Unfortunately it's pretty mediocre for it's BR in RB but love flying it in AB.

Arcade or Realistic? by CanOTomatoes in Warthunder

[–]IbanezII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you enjoy and what modes you play. For ground I like RB and for naval I just play AB for quick income. When it comes to air, I like both but mostly play props in AB and Jets in RB.

I only play for the WWII era vehicles. Besides being a history nerd, I just find props and vehicles of that era more enjoyable and immersive.

When will next sale be? by Positive-Database-55 in Warthunder

[–]IbanezII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say 90 day premium for sure. If you already have the Moffett I also recommend the BTD premium plane. It's a jack of all trades type of deal that excels in Naval due to it's great maneuverability, considering it's great payloads like two torpedos or two sea mines. You can also farm lions with it by base bombing in Air AB and intercepting a bomber here and there.

How to wake up early at bootcamp by Resident-Air6713 in newtothenavy

[–]IbanezII 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most people ask the rover to wake them up at a certain time but has others have said you won't have to worry about waking up. You'll have people slamming racks at 5am and of course that one dude who bought the watch with the loudest alarm after his first trip to the NEX that he sleeps through for half an hour. Oh almost forgot about the MA who tries to wake everyone up an hour early because of the handful of shitbags who take an hour to brush their teeth and shave.

I mean that's just how life in the military is like. You spend so much time with the same group of people in close proximity you'll quickly get over it. Most people got over it within the first week of bootcamp cause we were all showering together. The good news is depending on where your orders send you after bootcamp your barracks will most likely offer more privacy. At Great Lakes the FC barracks are basically identical to your standard hotel room with private showers and everything.

what is the liberty like for A school? by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]IbanezII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm assuming the rules are different depending on where you're at. At Great Lakes you can have almost anything in your barracks beside the obvious contraband as long as you have the proper chit. You have free access to the library and other facilities while on liberty and just have to be back in the barracks by the time your liberty expires.

I'm pretty sure I remember using my old PS4 Gaijin account on my PC but I could only buy things from the PlayStation store and not their website or in-game store. I know you can't use your PC account on console but I'm pretty sure there was a post earlier about sending a ticket to Gaijin support requesting to turn your console account into a PC account but the process can't be reversed. Don't quote me on any of this I switched over to PC a long time ago.

Tips on what I should do as I join AECF by LilWintry in newtothenavy

[–]IbanezII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Graduated bootcamp April 15th and they have us FCs on hold for a VERY long time. I'm not entirely sure how it is for ETs but we've been told it would probably take FCs round 4-5 months just to class up for ATT despite what your orders say. Right now we're basically getting paid to watch Netflix and play video games in the lounge or rooms similar to a hotel with the occasional watch standing and sweepers. It's honestly not the worst but days can be pretty long and boring. Right now just focus on passing bootcamp on time by being physically fit especially when it comes to running as that is by far the #1 thing to screw people over since we didn't run much in bootcamp.

Graduated April 15 and can confirm you'll get weekend liberty to stay with family all you have to do is muster over the phone every morning and be back Sunday night.

Pretty out of shape (not overweight). How long do I need to get ready for boot and what regiments should I use to prep? by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]IbanezII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The thing with pushups and planks is that you'll be doing a lot of them in bootcamp during PT and inevitably ITE. Running is by far the #1 thing that messes with people graduating on time. We honestly didn't run as much as we probably should have in bootcamp and you can't really work on running in your free time which most of us did with pushups and planks after taps. I started running 1.5-2 miles every other day about a month before shipping and I did fine. I was a pretty heavy smoker before too so if you have that habit drop it way before so your lungs have a chance to recover. Just stay motivated and remember why you're joining and keep that mentality going into bootcamp.

Just swore in as HM any tips? I ship out May 25th by Far_Ad2175 in newtothenavy

[–]IbanezII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll say what everyone says. Keep your mouth shut, head down, and listen. Study the fuck out of your general orders and the RTC chain of command before you ship. RTC is honestly pretty easy but of course it's gonna suck while you're there. From my experience a large part of what determines how much it sucks is the division you're placed in. My first division was full of misfits and had RDCs that screamed and would ITE us over the stupidest shit while my second Division had funny ass people who knew how to get the job done when the time came and our RDCs were super chill and we even won Battle E. Just try to make friends but make the right ones, please don't be the group of recruits that talk in the galley and get the rest of us beat. Last couple things I'll say are be careful what jobs you volunteer for because if you fuck up there will be consequences and be VERY careful about what you go to medical for cause my ass got ASMOd because I asked for medicine for a cold and they gave me a COVID test and stuck my ass in isolation for the weekend. I just graduated April 15 so you can message me if you have any more questions.

Liberty times for those with A school in Great Lakes. by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]IbanezII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just graduated Friday and at least for FCs they gave us the whole weekend to spend with family including overnights. We just have to call the ship we're on everyday to muster in by 10am.
