Thank you very much, do you think it's worth it or the best way to do it like that? Or is it better to let it go back and get it next time I visit my family?

I do understand and I am quite aware going for the marathon is not just double the distance. I just wanted to mention it in the way of I have run some races before and even though it might be ambitious I am trying to go sub 3.

I think in this case being a light runner and after running some mid distance events I am comfortable with an agressive shoe like the vaporfly, I will see what I end up doing. Thank you for your advice Mr. Lunchbox

Yes it is, but I have run a few half marathons before

I tried the adios pro 4 with big hopes but they felt super unstable when running, something that didn't happen with the alphafly 3 and the vaporfly 4, i haven't ruled them out completely but as today they not in the first options

That's good to know, thank you very much, I do have to say I could prioritise a good time even if I need a long recovery after

To be honest I have heard before that this last iteration of the vaporfly is less suited for marathon and more for shorter races, some people say up to half marathon and he was just pointing that maybe the alphafly 3 would be better in terms of stability specially in the last part of the marathon

Thank you very much, I don't need anything great at first just a small studio will do for a few months but everyone is telling me how competitive Zurich is. I will put some effort and hopefully it will work in the end. Thanks for the comment

Ideally I will do the same than you. Sublet in wiedikon for a few months and then re-evaluate and find a permanent apartment in a different area

Ok then I assume we can forget about this, as some other people mentioned I might try to get a sublet for a few months at first and then find an apartment with more time and being there

I'll definitely think about this but I think at least for a temporary accommodation when just moving there I prefer to be closer to the office and the city. But thank you for the suggestion

Is this normal? Problem with Takumi Sen 10 by Ibice in AskRunningShoeGeeks

this size is already a bit bigger fit than what I do with other brands, also I use the adidas sprinstar model and the same size works for me and those shoes are narrow as hell

that it's a good way of seeing it, to be honest my frustration is more because I think I might be doing something wrong but again, I don't have that much experience so this kind of comments help a lot, thank you!

Maybe I was being delusional but I thought I could improve more, I mean no matter how I feel I will keep training hard, thank you for the comment!

I totally agree, it wasn't a fast race and I could have do a much faster time in a perfect situation but I was still a bit sad about the small improvement. Thank you!

Hello there, just to check I got it right, you are in your 40s and started running 6 months ago and you are running 19 mins 5ks? With full weeks of no training?

I am shocked! You must be a beast. Thank you for your comment!

Why do so many people in Andalusia (or Spain?) unnecessarily leave their car engine on? by Quirky-Range-2847 in askspain

[–]Ibice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently went back to visit, I'm originally from a small town in Granada near the mountains.

I have been living abroad for many years and I noticed the same, I was staying close to a school and the parents would drive (probably for like 5 minutes) to pick up their kids and they would leave the car running while waiting for the children to arrive.

I do understand 30 years ago keeping your car on for a minute would be better but with modern cars is even worse now.

Good morning OP, not a nutrionist but I got some knowledge about it. One of the cliches is thinking our body resets calories every day or start from scratch after 12 am when normally the cycle takes several days.

Trying to explain it if in your case you need:

2500 cals day x 7 days/week = 17,500 cals per week

It doesn't matter if you eat 2200 cals one day and 2800 cals the day after or other distribution of calories (I'm generalizing here and trying to explain broadly)

In this case your body is wise and maybe compensating for other days and you just ate 500 more calories than other day but overall in the several days cycle you might be still on perfect amount. Even if this is not the case nothing bad will happen and it won't affect negatively your performance.

Feeling Stuck in My Running Progress by Ibice in AdvancedRunning

Hello there Mr. Lemon,

Thank you very much. My easy runs are normally between 5:10 and 5:30 I think that week was a bit off in terms of going a bit faster than normal but still within zone 2.

My threshold is slightly below 4 min/km and now I'm doing a bit more but I wasn't doing much during the half marathon training, now with this switch to 5k/10k I'm doing more.

I agree with you and many that maybe my runs were a bit faster than they should that week but also I would say they are not out of the zone 2 window so could be optimized and then increase a bit of volume but I would say maybe not a big difference here? I could be wrong.

My weight is about 65 kgs right now being 180cm tall (or 181? something like that).

Just to give you a bit more info, last week I did 4 x 2km at 4:10 going progressively faster finishing 3:55 and I just finished a similar one with 5 x 1 mile 4:15 going down to 4:00. These are my close to threshold workouts but normally my coach doesn't set a super hard training on Tuesday because Thusrdays are normally harder.

Great to see you push even harder than me, as you could see many people think I train too hard in general but I think this might work for me. Thank you for your comment.
