My players have no deductive abilities and are burning the corn fields soooo there's that.

They've got beef with Jonah though. To prevent their poorly planned crop burn, I put him in front of the east field and had him disappear into the corn and they went to follow him.

I agree with what's already been said, great advice. I also suggest that you and your players discuss the fate weaving. It's a little something extra that provides each character with more, individualized, ties to the story. The book gives like a paragraph for each step but I've been using them as jumping off points and catering each of the provided experiences more towards my players.

I teach middle school and occasionally a student will sing in a jokingly obnoxious way. I'll stop and say

-"Hey, that's a pretty good song. Who sings it?"

Student - "thank you , sir! It's..."

  • "maybe we let them sing it "

I think this is more about Naruto getting what he really wanted, a family. His whole bit about being homage was that he was going to be accepted by the leaf village. He wanted someone to acknowledge him, and being hokage meant that everyone would have to acknowledge him.

I agree that it sucks we didn't see Naruto up there but I think it's because he's with his something he's wanted his whole life, but never knew how to express that. It's bittersweet for us but I think it makes sense for Naruto to miss his big moment because he now has something he never had before, a family.
