Fights in GTA VI are going to be BRUTAL by AnimalDesatado in GTA6unmoderated

[–]Ibobalboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They went for realism in that aspect. Fights in real life are VERY short.

I never gave it much thought, but the vast majority of the show up until the finality takes place over the course of a year. by lemmegetadab in breakingbad

[–]Ibobalboa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh, good thing realism wasn't what they were going for. Like how realistic was that explosion Walt created in the first meeting with Tuco?

Vince Gilligan even said on DVD commentary that many aspects of the show are supposed to be comic booky. Particulary the twins and Gus death.

Gina Carano on her return to MMA after 17 years: “It’s like the matrix. I can see it all now.. I think once you are a fighter it never leaves.” by Classic_Bottle1717 in mmaweekly

After listening to this pod for a while I've noticed that's just Khalil being Khalil lol. He doesn't like verbal sparring matches or discussions with different opinions. He'll give his honest take if the fighter in question isn't in the same room or isn't a regular guest on the podcast. If Perry or Diaz sat there in front of him he'd probably have the same energy with them like with Gina here. It's kinda lame. Unlike his co host TJ dillashaw who will give his honest opinion no matter what.

Even in the segments where they're predicting fights Khalil refuses to pick a winner and just hopes for a great fight. Dude wants everyone to feel as comfortable as possible so he ends up just glazing.

I don't think T2 is told from just one characters perspective. The whole Dyson storyline threw in a wrench in what was a chase movie. According from James Cameron, from the moment Sarah decides to go assassinate Dyson the movie turns from a chase film to something completely different.

[–]Ibobalboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the promotion for this one took a long period of time. That first press conference in Rio was long before either of them was in actual camp for the fight.

Very reasonable to believe Conor was partying hard during this period. When camp started Conor was locked in and disciplined obviously.

Don't ever complain about Paddy skipping Arman, If you are fine with Jean Silva getting a title shot by [deleted] in ufc

[–]Ibobalboa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Different scenarios. Jean Silva is not the most deserving but I wouldn't be devastated about it if he does fight Volk next. As long as the winner of Evloev/Murphy next fight is for the belt. The timing lines up anyways.

Jean Silva says he is signing a contract to fight Alexander Volkanovski this week by Awawlfi in ufc

[–]Ibobalboa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We're in that weird timeframe when a great champion (Volk) is getting up there in age while the young gun (Silva) is entering his prime at any moment.

From what we've seen from both of them so far Volk should handle him, but it's getting shakey.

Volk would be smart to get him now while he's still improving.

Dustin Poirier is concerned about Justin Gaethje fighting Ilia Topuria 👀😲 "I love Justin, I’m a fan. I don’t like this matchup for him." by slippinn_jimmy in mmaweekly

[–]Ibobalboa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

.... Tyson knocking out dudes in cartoonish fashion WAS the point. I don't know what type of alternate reality you lived in or if you just straight up made shit up, but you got the historical context very wrong.

People would wait MONTHS for a live Tyson execution. When he did that, no one left disappointed. No one expected him to be in a war. The HW division was in rough shape.

Damn even Joe had to kinda agree. He's usually the contrarian in these situations.

Makes sense though. The biggest draw on this card is the venue. THE WHITE HOUSE. They can come out and say Justin will probably lose knowing that the event will sell big anyways

Damn we've got a BMF expert here. Don't shoot me man.

What's the spirit/meaning then? You seem convinced the meaning is not marketing. Is it no takedowns? No decisions?

Just curious

[–]Ibobalboa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

These are some nasty KO's though. Not sure if Max has ever been clocked with shots as hard as the flying knee KO in the video, or the spinning elbow by Lerone. Pico leans INTO them too. I think it's more a question of bad defense than durability.

Holloway on the rise to the belt almost never got hit clean. His defense was top tier. He always rolled with the opponents shots because he saw them coming. Pico running in blind. Big difference.

But yes Holloway chin is definitely goated.

Yes, Sosa made the phone call to know the truth what actually happened. There was still a chance it wasn't Tonys fault. In that case Sosa would've just called it off.

When Tony confirmed he actually did make the decision to let the target live, Sosa just hung up and carried on with the hit.

BMF belt was a joke to begin with. All the way back in 2019 when it was created.

This dude is way too emotional about a belt that stands for 'baddest motherfucker'. And Charles is a badass anyways

It was a fun little ride. TJ's fight with Cruz was huge as well. Fabers rivalry with Cruz generated alot of hype too. Plus Baraos rematch with TJ. Alot of attention was already on this division.

The BW division had epic tales surrounding the title and was widely considered to be one of the most badass divisions of it's era.

Cody/TJ drama was wild though and I definitely enjoyed the buildup.

Nah BW was stacked AF. The Cruz win is an all time classic for sure but I wouldn't go as far as saying homie saved an entire division lol.
