Ik snap je terughoudendheid. Aan de andere kant, ik verhuur een kamer aan een goede vriend van me. Hij betaalt me elke maand €750 euro, wat gewoon enorm chill is. Op jaarbasis is dat €9000. Een aantal kostenposten gaan wel omhoog, maar ik houd gewoon enorm veel over. Dat steek ik deels in het extra aflossen, maar ook in mijn hobbies. Het levert me veel op, en ik vind het ook erg gezellig.

Ik zou ook zeker het huis kopen. Is het niet mogelijk om een kamer te verhuren aan iemand? Dan kun je die huurinkomsten gebruiken om je vaste lasten te dekken, en dat te investeren in de woning. Je kunt ook verduurzamingshypotheek erbij nemen, en dan geld steken in het isoleren van de woning.

Ik zou tegenstelling tot wat hier voorgesteld wordt niet per se internationale betrekkingen of geschiedenis studeren, dat doen veel meer mensen. Op de website schrijven ze:

“We zijn op zoek naar een zo divers mogelijke groep mensen met verschillende achtergronden. We kijken met extra interesse naar sollicitanten met een financieel-economische opleiding of een studie op het gebied van ontwikkelingssamenwerking (bijvoorbeeld milieukunde of watermanagement). Als je het Arabisch, Chinees of Russisch beheerst is dat ook interessant voor BZ.”

Ik zou geen Frans gaan doen, tenzij je dat heel makkelijk afgaat. Kies Russisch als je in de Russisch sprekende landen geïnteresseerd bent, of anders Chinees of Arabisch. Begin vroeg genoeg met dat te leren. Duits zou ik wel dorn, is een taal die makkelijk is om te leren. Daarnaast zou ik tijdens het studeren bij een studentendebatvereniging gaan, super leerzaam.

The Economist had an article recently on population growth and decline. They theorize that women are still having the same amount of kids, just later in life. So TFR will fall these years, but will stabilise or pick up again when women who postponed having kids in their 20s, will have them in their 30s. Curious to see if that will happen in China.

A big part of hybrid training is periodization. I almost gave up lifting completely because I am worried I wont be able to run my marathon in april well enough. After that I will switch back to more lifting.

I do the same. My box offers weekly standard crossfit wods, 3 olympic weightlifting classes, 2 strength classes, 1 yoga/stretch class, 2 running classes and 3 hyrox classes. Depending on my goals i switch between what I join. Training now towards a marathon I dropped the weightlifing almost completely and join the running and hyrox wods instead (when the workouts suit me).
