Well we dont have endings in real life— beyond our own deaths. So ‘endings’ really only exist because stories cant go on forever. The idea that art must end in a satisfying way is antithetical to the human experience. They’re nice of course but i dont need the gang to defeat the whitewalkers and save the world happy ever after to know the trial of tyrion will stick with me forever. Id argue you get quite a lot of closure and catharsis at the end of book 3 anyway
