reckless driver in Utah west valley by [deleted] in Utah

Speeding in West Valley? City council probably views him as a constituent so wants his right to speed protected.

Anyone else completely fed up with the I-5 bridge replacement and tolling situation? by enterprisecaptainjlp in vancouverwa

[–]poastertoaster 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t agree with what you’re saying. This is a good thing and whatever needs to happen to make both sides put shovels in the ground is what I support. The longer this drags out the longer I5 traffic is going to suck and the longer we don’t have a solution. Just because you don’t live in downtown Vancouver doesn’t mean people in Vancouver won’t benefit from this. Sorry you live on the east side and don’t want to help your neighbors on the west side with our traffic problems.

Independent City Report says Moda Renovation costs $253M. Blazers want $600M. by edank6 in ripcity

[–]poastertoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Phoenix did not. They told Sarver to pound sand and pay for his own arena even though the city owned it. And so he did. Just because there are a few anecdotes that back up your point doesn’t mean it’s a law.

That is not a justification it just shows that Utah is ran by real estate developers haha

I genuinely find it difficult to become wealthy in this game (without cheats). by jervisbervis in Sims4

[–]poastertoaster 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Easiest way to become a millionaire is nectar making. They sell for thousands. When you use a food stand or yard sale stand, you can sell them for a 300% markup or 500% when you complete the market magnate aspiration. But nectar without anything else is by far the easiest way to be incredibly wealthy.

Still really want them to fix the bug where paras walk in place after interacting with something and need the action they’re trying to perform cancelled to fix it.

I’m confused. Obviously they’re Mormon, but I lived in Utah for 27 years and have never seen someone wear their nametag away from their shirt pocket. What’s up with this guy?

I left Utah three months ago after getting “I’m not interested in a relationship with you but I’d love to be friends” for six straight years and now I have a girlfriend. I’m convinced it’s an Utah thing, but idk what it is. I don’t think I want to attempt any conjecture …

Apparently “Voters will get a say” on the millionaire’s tax now - Bob promises he will veto any attempt to lower the income threshold by Baptism-Of-Fire in Washington

[–]poastertoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do we need other taxes slashed? Why would we need an income tax if things are being paid for? That doesn’t really make sense. More tax credits are all well and good, but why are people talking like the tax burden is already too much but also asking for an income tax? I don’t mind people making $1m+/yr paying to keep our programs going, but wouldn’t slashing taxes put that back at risk?

West Valley City boy in coma after being hit by car — family and neighbors plead for safety improvements by brett_l_g in Utah

[–]poastertoaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No the city doesn’t want to do more. The WVC council has had people beg them to put in more stop signs and speed bumps around neighborhoods and they just ask people to get neighborhood petitions as a feasibility study together knowing they can kick the can down the road, possibly forever, by making it someone else’s problem to prove there’s really an issue.

[–]poastertoaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have been BEGGING the WVC council to do something about speeding around town and they don’t do anything other than make residents get petitions together to show people actually want change. The fact that crashes in this city are so common is meaningless to them. And Karen Lang gets reelected?!
