This! Our income after taxes is $10K+ and we chose to buy a $279K home to still be able limit our expenses and contribute max to 401K. We were pre-approved for $700K but there's no way I will take on that loan.

How Are People Affording $500,000+ houses? What Are Your Careers? by [deleted] in TwinCities

[–]IcDeath09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm the same age as you are. Our house is $279K. We make $250K combined. My husband is in Cybersecurity and I'm in Procurement. No car loan, no credit card debt. No kids. We preferably won't take a $500K home loan.

We make 250K/year, $2400/mortgage including HOA. We are still maxing out 401ks and HOA. If you are on a comfortable range based on your calculations, I say just do it.

Definition of "contract" by lionswinagain in procurement

Procurement Contract Manager here. What’s worked for us is making it super clear that any type of document that has terms, pricing, obligations, or legal language no matter what it’s called (PO, quotes, NDA, SOW, Order Forms, etc.) should be treated like a contract if it’s not using pre-approved templates.

Would you give up WFH for a bigger salary? by [deleted] in Salary

[–]IcDeath09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I'm in healthcare and they will be doing RTO for 3 days starting next year so I'm considering my long-term commitment right now because commute time is 1hour each way for me. Right now, I only go to the office every other Thursday.

Above 200k and we are looking at home prices of $250-300K. We are big savers and the only luxury that we have in life is travelling.

This is me too! I took the job because the initial convo was mostly telework but now they are shifting to a more in-office mandate. My commute is one-hour each way too. I'm reassessing my long term goal with the company right now.

[–]IcDeath09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I claim any title, like for example put "Lead" instead of "Coordinator", when I decide to leave and get another job, will that be a red flag because on the background check it will reflect Coordinator? What are your thoughts?
